True 0-60 time for stock CL-S?

Does anyone know the real 0-60 time for a stock CL-S???? I have read everything from 6.5 all the way down to 5.9 seconds. Auto vs. 6-speed??? Can anyone get this straight?

Acura claims 6.7s or less... more like 6.4s... modded CLS Auto can go down to 5.9s-6.1s easy.. CLS-6 5.9s and below modded CLS-6 5.5s or less

But 0-60 is meaningless... think 0-100 on the track!

0..60 meaningless????

Add in temp changes and the 0..60s are all over the map. Mine did 6.4 in 60-degree weather when dead stock.

I'd hate to see what the 0..60 is in 100+ degree weather...

Car 1:
0-60 in 6.7s or 4.0 m/s*s or ~89.78m elapsed to 60 MPH

Car 2:
0-60 in 6.2s or 4.3 m/s*s or ~82.64m elapsed to 60 MPH

So, the difference is only 7m or 1.43 car length...

Now since the reaction time could differs up to 0.5s or more between any 2 drivers... there is no clear indication which car is faster...

Nashau:

Meaningless is a synonym for "worthless."

If you are vying for bragging rights with someone over what part of the car is ahead of another, with a 10% difference in power-to-weight, you could argue that (IMO).

However, some cars only get to 60 in 8 seconds, and when you try to get on the freeway, it does matter how fast you get up to speed.

If the figure is so "worthless", why do magazines continue to use it?

Not everyone is measuring the distance between car doors at the local strip. Ask a road racer if the 5..60 and/or 0..60 MPH time in a tight section is "worthless." You win all kinds of different races by very small intervals of time…

Finally, there are cars that do 0..60 in 3.x seconds. See how close you are to them after a few turns...

Your opinion -- not mine!

I drive a 99 Toyota Sienna and I guess it has some 190 HP but it so heavy ~4000lbs ... it needs some 10s to get to 60... to merge on the HW you need more of decision making than a 0-60 sprinter... for sure, the quicker the better and easier to merge (it does help)...

However, back to the question of this thread. I believe that the question was asked to have an estimate how quick the CLS is to 60 ... the intent was to compare to other cars...

I read somewhere that the Odyssey was high 7s...maybe 7.9s 0-60...granted it is 240hp. I thought that was pretty funny since my last car was a SS Prelude and it was around 7.5s 0-60. I am sure that there were no twisties involed in the test since the Prelude was STUCK to the ground and would laugh at an Odyssey.:P

Welcome back? I've been addicted to this place since I got my CL-S in Oct. I went to school in Lowell (U Mass). I know Nashua pretty well! What have you done to your CL..I am "trying to find my way".
