Angry Trick or treat?

So tonight after I get out of work I crank my car up and seems fine. Get into the vehicle and it seems to run very rough. I put the car into drive and give it gas, and it seems as if it is like flooded! Continue driving and go get something to eat. After I get something to eat, the check engine light comes on along with the VSA and (!) light all come on to greet me. BS! What could it be? The driving experience when I drive is it has alot of lagging in acceleration, and I feel a wobble in the steering wheel when I gas it just a little than normal and the check engine light flashes like three times??? Other than that I smell a cat converter burning smell a little inside the car! Right now I am pretty pissed! The car was running fine today until this evening. Any advice is appreciated, should I not drive the car to the acura dealership a good 20 miles from my location, should I risk it? Car has 148K and has never given me any major problems. HELP!

Does the engine have a weird sound? Maybe its a misfire if it smells like a burning cat?

Yes definately has a different sound. Any other thoughts? If it is a misfire what does that mean? Is it a expensive fix? Keeping my fingers crossed it's nothing to do with the tranny, as it has already been replaced and seemed to shift fine. No other problems have occured with this vehicle except the ihrc mapping device went bad and had to be replaced.

I can't believe nobody else has any other thoughts as to what it could be. I mean this is an emergency, I have to have my car to get to and from. I am gonna make the haul out to acura and see what the verdict is. Will let you guys know what I find out.

Get the check engine codes read at AutoZone or some place like that. That will give you a general idea.

Well people are generally asleep between 1:30 AM and 9 AM

Sounds like a misfire to me as well. Easiest way to tell is to just plug it in.

if its the motor its probly misfire or maybe something odd like that fuel system.
now about 3 month ago i experienced similar problems then the next week my tranny took a massive dump! and its still not fixed....... so check the codes. mine started with check engine light then the VSA then stopped moving but runs fine!!!

Was the 6th coil pack. Could squeeze me in today, so I got it fixed thankfully but at a pretty penny. Even talked me into new brake fluid cause the technician said it was bad! Tried to talk me into doing all 6 at the same time but I said no, cause it was big bucks. Does anybody know if you have to replace all 6 at the same time or were they just trying to upsell me? Can't complain though, this is the first actual problem thus far with the CL. (Knock on wood)

Wish I would have seen this earlier, my first thought was a bad coil pack. No need to replace all 6, I've only had one go bad in 250k. I keep meaning to order a spare online just to keep on hand (~$40+shipping).
