Tree sap on my car!!
Okay well my reserve parking spot for my car is just luckly under a pine tree so everynight these days i have to clean the tree sap off my car. During the summer the tree was droping big drops so I would first scoop off as much as I could w/ like a credit card and then apply cleaner wax, then wax it out. Now the stupid pine tree is dripping sap but its in small drips. I can get it off no problem w/ the Meguriers quick wax spray, but on the windows Its just a bitch to get off. I use to use a razor knife and just scratch it out from the window but that takes forever long. Anyone know how to get tree sap off your windows/glass?
oh btw, when sap isn't falling leaves, treebranch and other crap are always falling on to my car, So everynight I've been putting my car cover on. even when i come in at 3:00 am.

Coming to a city near you
I have pine trees covering my driveway and I always have Pine sap mist over my car. It really sucks in the morning when there is some dew on the window and I use my wipers and end up smearing all the sap mist over my window.

Try bug and tar remover...I dont think it does anything bad to your paint or windows because it is made for car use. I have it and use it once in a while before I wax my car to get all the stuff off...Then I wax my car just to make sure none of the stuff is left over.

Try some "Dissolve-it" if your talking about the glass of the car. I haven't tried it on the sap (although it says it works great). It did remove some adhesive left by the dealer with great ease.

Hi NOVA,
How about just getting a cheap cover that you don't care about for when the sap is dropping? You could get a generic one at TrackAuto or something for pretty cheap I would imagine. You could refer to the two covers as your "sap-cover" and "crap-cover" respectively.
Maybe that would be more trouble than it's worth...just a thought.

hey Sky, welcome to the fourm. I see your from dc area. Well we are having another big meet on 10/20 http://www.acura-cl.com/cgi-bin/ulti...c&f=1&t=010972
I already have a car cover and really don't feel like getting another one. Its just a real pain like when I park under a pine tree somewhere other than my house where I usually dont' use the car cover. I have my cleaning tools in my trunk so I usually clean the paint stuff right away but the glass. ERRRRRRRRr

Tree sap dissolves really well when its not left on the car for too long, its nothing that a little car wash fluid cant handle, should come off fairly easily...This is the worst time for sap ...Shyne
