Transmission Indicator Light Behaviour - HELP

Hey All:

I don't think I have ever noticed this but is the green D5 indicator light supposed to stay on when I shift into SS mode and the gear indicator light comes on?

I always thought that the D5 light goes out when SS mode is engaged, as far as I can remember in the 13 months that I have owned this car.

What's supposed to happen / what is the normal behaviour for the display?

Thanks in advance.

Regards.

Thanks, KavexTrax.

I did do a search of the transmission forum prior to posting, and I haven't found anything about the normal operating behaviour of the D5 indicator light when shifting into SS mode. Nor does the user manual state anything in this regard.

My question again is: When engaged in SS mode the gear indicator light comes on, but is it also normal for the D5 light to stay on or should it go out?

Thanks and regards.

The D5 light stays on when you shift into SS mode my car, been that way ever since I bought it 9/21/01. It is still technically in 5 gears, just that u control when to shift.
