Quick question: Any issue with filling the tranny fluid in through the dip stick instead of the fill plug? Seems like it would be easier, so long is you have a long enough funnel.

Another interesting note is a dealership I called (Honda cause they are closer to my house) said there was no tranny filter o.O I think I will call them back and give them the part number and see what they say...

Meaning it's a non-serviceable item, not that it doesn't have one. They can't just drop the pan and replace. You actually have to drop the tranny and split it open

There is an external filter on these trannys. At the end of the video I try showing where it is. Most people will argue that there is no reason to change this because if it is needed then the internal filter is already shot and changing the external one pretty much won't do anything.

As for filling it through the dipstick, have you seen the location of the dipstick? Its not very convenient to get to. The tranny fill plug in the back is very very simple to access and fit a long funnel back there.

I don't have the oil jet so maybe it is a different case if you do.

Filling it thru the dipstick is not the easier way nor quick at all.

x2 most places I find all have Valvoline AT fluid.

Best place to get Genuine Honda ATF Z1 is ebay. I picked up a case for $70. Considering how often you should change the fluid with these automatic trannys a case isn't a bad idea.

A pain even with the right tools and extensions?

It's a pain literally. Even with the proper extensions and universals it still is a long reach to the back plugs and your back really gets a stretch.

It's not really a pain as in the sense that it is a hard job.
