I took my car in yesterday for some warranty work and was given a 2003 TL-P as a loaner. I noticed that the TL shifts alot smoother and just feels more solid(transmission). I have not had any problems with my transmission on my CL-S but now am wondering if the occasional hard shifts mean my trans. is going bad. I am having the dealer look at it but what do you guys think?

 

the problem i had was one severe downshift from 5th to 2nd then 5 instances of clunking during mild acceleration. it appears that a large percentage of 2001-s's have transmission problems. iwhen your tranny goes you will know it.
