ok i realize this is about my AV6 98 but should be same stuff .... first felt like the trannys been ready to go for a while and cvs have been clicking for months ... whats the likelyhood that one axel has let go and the diff is spinning the side thats free ... car revs like its in neutral ? the final bomb struck last night after 2 am coming homefrom poker at first on the 2-3 the car revd free ... let it falll back down ... then it would drive as normal .... way homedid it a few more times ... then it was like bam done .... was told to try pushing it in park if it rolls then an axel is gone ....


my cars a 4 speed obviously are anyof the same 5 speed transmissions that can swap into the cl also compatible with my car? is being a 4 speed a problem?

The tranny can physically be swapped. Im not sure about the tranny ECU as the Accord ECU is for a 4 speed.

so sound like the trans to you ? or do you think one axel let go and its just spinning free... and if this symptom adds anything to it ... it almost seems to rev quick in drive then it ever did in neutral

Sorry, I was answering your second question about the tranny swap.

Ive never blown an axle on a car with an open diff, so Im not sure if the car would still move. When my pass side axle went on my CL, the car wouldnt move at all.
