Tranny fixed and feels great

I got the car back today from the shop and its feels soooooooo much better. Went to a new place that opened up in town and they really know what they're doing. Re-calibrated the tranny pressure and installed a new torque converter and the car feels totally different. 60-100 feels like almost nothing and I can not even imagine what the car will feel like if I engage the 75 wet shots going into the motor. Chagned out the 51R battery for me and put in new belts for the HBP and also cleaned the throttle body. They also installed new ZEX plugs for me and a new set of OEM coil-on wires. I swear the car feels brand new. I feel no drag from the charged motor like I did before and the new K&N filter got rid of the coughing when launching the car at a light. I would put up pics, but I don't have any right now....They are soon to come though....stand by....

Not too much. I bought all the parts and my buddy works at the shop. He gave me a great deal and did most of the tranny fixing and calibration for free. Most of the hours paid were spent on getting the new plugs in with the wires (because the charger had to come completely off). So I decided to buy all the parts while it was in the shop and he helped out with all the fluid changes as well. Out of my pocket I spent about $345.00 at the shop.

what isn't wrong with our tranny's?...JK...To start I started losing the tranny as soon as I put in the charger. Launching the car was a nerve-wrecking experience everytime. the shifts in high revs from 1st to 2nd to 3rd were grind city and you could just smell the burn at the next stop light. from there came the sluggish drag from the slippage. I would floor it and the car was slower than a golf cart. Blew out the first tranny and got it replaced and with it came the same problems and finally opted to invest some money in a reinforced tranny for my third one. But again the slippage and the only thing the car was relying on was the welded blue plates. Fially took it to the new guys and my buddy and the car feels great.

well see yea, i could pay 750 and get a tranny out of a salvaged car with a warranty of 3 months, but aamco said they will fix my tranny for about 2900 + 525 for liftime warranty and considering these trannies go out alot, i thought id get that, but what doyou think get the salvaged tranny or stick with aamco cuz aamco said they will finance meif i have a co signer.

what do u think man?

hmmm...tough to say....whatever aamco has in store for your car it can't be more than fixing it back to stock. Ask and see if they can reinforce it for you some how at that price and make sure the calibration and pressure are on mark as well.

El Cid Acura, I plan on rebuilding my own tranny. Can you give me any advice? What do you mean when you say reinforcing the tranny. And are there certain specs for the re-calibration and pressure or just stock specs. Would I have to take the whole transmission to a shop to have calibration and pressure done?
