Tranny ?

Tranny ?
I have a 02 CL-S with 44k on it. The tranny seems fine, I just got the car and am pretty much babying it. I have a reputation of being too hard on cars I toasted a 5.0 mustang in 5 months and also a Geo Storm 5-speed. I want to know how hard you have to be to on this drivetrain to fuk it up. I want to make it last but also hop it up and have fun with it. I've got 7 year powertrain and 5 year bumper to bumper from Ed Morse Acura in Pompano Beach Fl. How much trouble is it to get a new tranny or God forbid a new motor if I toast either one. Has anyone dealt with Ed Morse Acura? How are dealerships with replacements. Anything will be appreciated.

It's a recall. So they're not being dicks about replacing them. I've had mine done once. If you got an extended Warranty when you purchased the car, I say go nuts, don't baby it. I'm not saying drive it around without oil or anything, but the car is pretty solid. Definately never compare it to a Geo Storm ever again.

sorry
Sorry about the Storm comparison that was below the belt and I apologize. I got that car in trade for what was left of my poor mustang, that's pretty bad I got a car for a car with no motor. I did have fun trashing that POS. I broke both CV axles not to mention all the other stuff that was wrong with it

Well, the problem w/ the auto-tragic trannies is that the design flaw sucks when it comes to everyday driving. It's the action of shifting from 1st to 2nd to 3rd back down to 2nd that is messing the tranny up.
Aggressive driving shouldn't be too much of a worry.

Ed Morse is installing my 3rd Transmission RIGHT NOW!
Seems like a pretty good dealership. My writer is Sylvester. He's OK.
You don't have to run 'em hard to break them. Enjoy it one day at a time. When it breaks... you'll know it.
