Trade in an S2000 for an STI?

Hey all,
My father's current daily driver is an S2000. Recently, he has been kicking around the idea of trading it in for an STI. I was thinking about it, and so I'm posing the question to my CLers: Would you trade in an S2000 for an STI?

I would probably buy the STI in the first place.

I'd take that AWD beast over the S2000.

Yes,... the s2000 interior is too cramped for my taste. Plus the AWD would be great great here in the Great White North.

dude your dad must have a serious midlife crisis!! hahaha, drivin around in rice burners all the time. a grown man over 25 should NOT have anything like an STI for anything other than a weekend/track car. a grown man with an STI as a daily driver looks absolutely ridiculous and is clearly an indication of a midlife crisis.

STi is not just a ricer boy car. Peruse NASIOC sometime -- there's plenty of adults that enjoy Subaru performance.

STi is nice, but there are a number of fun cars in that price range. I like the S2000 too, and a convertible top is nice. He'll also have to add a radio (to the STi) if he wants to listen to something during his morning commute.

STi might be too stiff of a ride for a daily driver. He should drive one around town and see how he likes the drivability.

Have him get the STI and demand that they put the regular WRX spoiler on it. That STI spoiler is BUSTED. :shakehd:

With the money your dad has to put up to trade to the STI, he could just F/I the S2000. I beat a Sti in my S/C S2K on Wednesday by several car lengths from a roll.

Plus, IMO the S looks much classier.

CLS2001_97124...from what I understand the centrifugal blower makes it's real power up top right? So the does the blower really hlp driveablility much, i.e. add some power to the midrange? Or is ot more a racing application type kit? Do you think you would hang with an STi from a stop. Sounds like you have the power to make up for the ground you will lose at the start. Any times/traps to report? My friend was running 14.1 in his S2k. I would think you are mid 13's with a blower no? You are right, the S2k is way classier. Deleting the rear wing or any body work won't make the EVO or STi classy....but they aren't meant to be and I don't think the market who wants them cares. I know I wouldn't if could afford to get rid of my car now I would be all over an EVO for sure.

After getting rid of the Evo, I considered the 04 S2k....great car but I just can't have another 2 seat useless car at this point. Not to mention, the M3 is RWD and so is the S2k (not setting myself up well for a bad winter situation).

The STi is an awesome car and actually find it to be easier to deal with on a day to day basis vs. the Evo.

I think the STi looks like more of a Rally car than the Evo does, which I like.

The wing follows suit with STi tradition, it either works for you or it doesn't......

STi 22B

That's because those losers can't drive. They ran 13.3 @109mph in the cobra and 13.29@100mph in the STI. I have seen stock Cobra's running mid twelves all day long. Some car Mag ran 12.6, I'll find the article and post it for you. So madfawk:

That's what happens when the Cobra can't hook up and the STI can. Yes it's the driver, but the Cobra has got to be harder to hook up than the STI.

you moron, didnt you read my post? lol. i said an STI as a DAILY DRIVER! Beltfed has a sweet ass M3 for when he doesnt want to drive around the rice rocket. so its all good and obvious that he has good taste in cars, not to mention understands certain applications where a car would make you look silly (i.e. im sure he wouldnt roll up to a big meeting or conference in the STI but at a track, the STI would get respect)

oh, and i did tell him that the STI and EVO are midlife crisis cars if owned by an older gentleman a few months back when he was still desiding what to get

Old man, do you think you are cool because you have a lot of posts.? Well you're not. You better pick up a new hobby, a man of your age should not be spending so much time trying to be fast & furious on an Acura forum!!!! Also if you ever bought an STI you would get laughed at these cars aren't meant for old men.
Grow Up!!!

I'd take the STi over the S2000
and probably the Cobra over the STi

dont get me wrong, the STi is a great car, but i think i'd rather have a Cobra
