Track Times From Today...

it was right at 82 degress while i was running, track was soo busy i only got to make 3 passes and had to wait like 30 min between every run

ran 14.5 all three runs with my best being a 14.50 off a 2.20 60 foot, a new PB 60' for me, could of been a 14.4 0r .3 run if i didnt hit the damn rev limiter so hard on the 1-2

to compare when i went to the track w/o the chip it was like 15-20 degrees cooler and i ran the same times, so i guess the chip might be working for me but i'm not totally convinced cause i am only trapping 97.5 on my 14.5 runs

i will be going back to the track on wens when it will be in the low 70's, but even more importantly it wont be as busy so i can get in back to back runs w/o waiting, i think this really helps my times

whats crazy is that i still have yet to break my 14.2 record after the addition of the ur pulley, springs, chip, and new tires, i guess our cars our just way to sensitive to tempature

geez after a day like today i begin to think that a 13.9 would be very hard to achieve, but thats my goal so will see if i can get there when it cools down

yea dude.. temp + humidity is a big factor. plan some runs in the fall when it should be cooler light wheels should help

im pretty much at your set-up now i/h/e without the chip or pulleys.. have been hesitant about getting the chip, and pulleys but hopefully you'll get the gains you'd like from the chip

Our cars are sensitive to temperature. Have you installed the Mugen T-stat and fan switch? Those made my car run a lot stronger in warm weather.

Nope they are definitely a low 13 second car. The GT should run the 13.8-14.0

from what I've seen on mag's and from peoples slips:

GT's will run high 13s/ low 14s

Mach 1 will run mid - high 13s

14.3 @ 99.1

That was with a 2.2 60' though. I normally pull off 2.1s

Also it was 15 degrees hotter (75 degrees) than my previous best of 14.2@98.6

I am hitting the track tomorrow with the chip.

I have a non chipped run in similiar conditions to compare it to .. so we'll see exactly how it does. I am going to run the car exactly as I ran it on the non chipped run. full interior, spare, jack, tools, sub and amp, street tire pressure, no torque brake launch. under these conditions non chipped I ran a 14.85 @ 95mph, 2.3 60ft a few weeks ago (horrible time, but I only wanted something to compare with) .. my best to date is a 14.17 @ 98.5mph, 2.17 60ft.

For those that are in to what Muscle cars ran FACTORY stock here's a good reference.

Keep in mind it didn't take much to make these cars even faster. Minor suspension upgrades, tires and some minor tuning would turn these cars in to 12 or even 11sec screamers.

Note that with most of these basic mods most people (including myself) would still consider them stock. So I really doubt that the Mach I was "pure" stock as I used to eat them for lunch all the time and I ran mid 13s with street tires.

Not til like 3 AM though. I'm going to try to get to the track early and hot lap the car, as those are always the best times. I'll be leaving in an hour or two .. will report back tonight.

Darrin looks like you answered my question, you went for the T&T from 12-5. I didnt get 13's that night either, I got four 14.1's and all at exactly 97.5mph. The temps werent horrible in the evening, but it was still damn humid which was hurting everyones times. I know it was the weather because my 60's were nearly identical but my trap speed was 1mph lower and my ET's were 2 tenths slower than last month when it was like 60* and no humidity.

Well it wasnt as busy as the last event, still filled up 2 lanes when they called for sport compacts though. I doubt your times would have been any better, it was still in the 70's and humid as hell at 8pm

According to a recent MotorTrend episode, an 05 vette with an LS2 6.0 L (400 HP/400 TQ) 6MT runs a 13.2 1/4.
