toyo t1-s and snow
I still don't understand why these tires (toyo) would be bad in the snow, especially compared to the stock tires. I am talking about NJ snow, where it is mostly wet slush on the roads. Wouldn't the toyo's handle better than the stock Mushies, since everyone says the toyo's are great in wet weather?

Just because a tire is great in the wet/dry doesn't mean they will be good in snow. It's all in the compound of the tire. I had a set of Dunlops on a Probe GT that were great in the wet/dry but in the winter they were hard as a rock and never would get any heat in them to drive well. That's why an all season tire uses a different compound of rubber that is suitable for all seasons.

I think the reason why their bad in the snow is because there made out of a softer compound, like all Z rated tires and they get really hard in the cold. Not a tire expert but that's what I think.

The Yoko AVS Dbs are probably good examples of tires that do pretty well in snow, water, and dry.
The Toyos are great for the dry, the wet, and flooded freeways (not snow).
