toyo proxes

I just had a long conversation with Bill of tirenet regarding the proxes. He can sell them for $163 delivered in a 235/45/17 size. It seems that this is a good price to me and thought I'd share. The number is 888-261 9566. He said the proxes have a much more compliant ride than the pole positions.

The going killer price for the Toyos in the 235/45-17 are $150-$160 w/o install + tax.

Some guys are quoting some really wacked out prices (like $200 ea, 190 ea, etc).

Toyo also has a page with local dealers (with possibly better prices/no delivery hassles/+tax); if you can't find one on the www.toyo.com page -- by using the find dealer by zip code -- then the price your getting isn't too bad.

Anything under $200 is good for the Toyos. Tirerack doesn't carry them. Local places will charge at least $190 + tax. I got mine for $153 each.

I don't get it?

"Anything under $200 is good for the Toyos", but you got yours for $153 each. I know they are excellent tires, but would you really pop for the extra $50 a tire (just to avoid shopping around)?

Me? No. But I'm cheap and I got a good deal through a wholesaler. Most people will have to pay at least $170-$180/tire when you factor in tax and shipping.
