Took out a new T-Bird

On my way home from work this morning ( I work midnights) I had a nice run with a newer T-Bird. I had just caught a light on a two lane road that right after the light goes down to one lane. I was in the left which is the lane that continues, while the right lane ends and you have to merge. I see people who know the road try to outgun the person in the left lane to gain some position on the road. Well, this silver T-Bird pulls up next to me and doesn't turn right. I knew he was going to try to own me to merge infront. However, I didn't go full tilt from the light. I didn't wanna look like a dickhead peeling out at the light and him just casually pulling out. So, I gave him the jump. I left a little more brisk than normal, but he still put about 1/2 car length on me right from the get-go. I floored it as soon as I saw him jump ahead, ran 1st to what sounded like redline, chirped 2nd pretty good, and ran 2nd out. By the time we got to where he had to merge into my lane his front bumper was at my rear tire , and I was pulling more and more. I was side by side with him when I hit 2nd gear, and when he heard me chirp 2nd he looked over and gave me a big smile. At the next light we were turning different directions and I gave him the thumbup as I passed him and he waved.

This was in my CL-S if you were wondering.

Nice kill. I always wondered how our cars would fair aganist the new bird.

After you gave him the jump did it sound like he was on it the whole time?

Ford is not putting out a S/C version anymore. Retro is starting to suck to me.

I LOVE the old S/C T-bird, what a car!

He was for sure on it. He got a pretty decent launch and he was moving pretty decently. He only had to slwo down when his lane was ending and I he was obviously not gonna get past me.\

And Darrin this was at the intersection of 13 mile & Middlebelt, traveling westbound on 13 mile, if ya know the area.

If you didn't give him the jump you would have had him easily, at least that is what happened when I raced a new T-Bird. Good Kill!!
