Took down a Dodge neon srt4

i was heading down the road going about 62 in a 45 when a dodge neon srt4 comes flying up and then slams his break and sits behind my ass for like 5 minutes although it was a 3 lane road and no one else was on the road but us. So, he finally decides to pass me and goes to make a right hand turn where I have to make a right hand turn to. I am right behind his ass on the turn and get into the middle lane and he is in the far right. He accelerates at the same pace as me and by 30 we both hit it at the same time, at 80mph i am a 1/2 car ahead. I was very surprised.

Why not get a blower while you're at it too? I promise, you won't regret it!

Nice kill, BTW.

lol, thanks, but with the mods I have I am obviously going to push the car a little, I broke the car in for 1500 miles making sure everything would be okay. I treat the car very nicely and do not abuse it.

No offense but the SRT would have raped your Type-S easy depending on the driver cause of the fact what Chaptorial said them running 13 easy.

actually, no, not at all, I saw one, getting 12.8 consistently, I asked the guy what the hell is in that?? He said just a stage 2 turbo kit $1200, and he upgraded the exhaust, then I saw this girl doing the same, but she was getting 12.7, and she just put a new clutch, and I think a stage 1 turbo, and a third guy had the same times, 12.8, but I didn't ask.

The first guy said for like $3000 (I believe), you can get the new stage 3 turbo upgrade, and he claims they'll be in the 11's, but we'll see about that.

There is NO WAY! Those people weren't telling you everything they've done.

A Stage 1 + clutch doesn't = a 12.7. Stage 1 is only new injectors and an ECU reflash.

Even the fastest stage 2 kits I've seen only run low 13s.

Nice kill. Most stock SRT-4s run low 14s with a few running in the high 13s (This is from what I see at the track and believe me there are plenty of SRTs there!). They are quick cars but a CLS with renegades mods is no slouch either (mid to low-14s). Not to mention from 30 the CLS does have some punch (not sure if it will dip into first at that speed but 2nd is pretty strong from 30-60ish). Now throw in the fact that from a roll we eliminate the launch disadvantages and we have a really good race.

Oh and I have heard of some SRTs hitting 13.7ish stock I believe but these are from people who know how to launch them and beat the piss out of them.

hmmmm, I guess that's possible, and I was skeptical, but after I saw 3 I started to think they were telling the truth, now I'll have to drill 'em and strap on a polygraph and see if it's true! LOL

actually though, if you say low 13's, that's pretty close, the rest could be the driver?????????? all 3 were extremely consistent, and I know when I run, depending how I take off, I have run anywhere from 15.8 to 16.8, and sometimes I'm not even sure what I did different...... hmmmmm??
But, who knows, maybe they were 3 Dodge sales people pulling the wool over all of our heads so we'd go out and buy one??? Conspiracy??

Stage 1 can get you mid-13's, it's a reflash and new injectors... however the 04's came with those stage 1 injectors stock, so on those all you do is throw on a boost controller and the stock ecu pulls less timing than the stage 1 ecu at moderate boost levels (i.e. spike 18, hold 16, bleed to 14 at redline)

Hahaha obviously if one of his 3 mods are nitrous he has the potential to trap 114. I was thinking about turbo or internal motor upgrades, not the juice.

Low 13s meaning 13.3 @ 104 MPH. A mid to high 12 second pass is going to require more than the Stage 2 upgrade.

I ran into one on the highway. Stayed right on his ass when he tried to get away from about 95 to 140 mph! Didn't think our 4th gear would be able to hang with it.
