Took car in for tranny replacement, Acura gave me a...

BUICK LeSABRE

I guess they thought they were doing me a favor since its a full sized vehicle. Its supposed to be like one of their premium cars.

At least I get 150 miles a day, so time to do some serious road traveling.

Also the service rep said I was 14th in line on the list of 1000+. Don't know how true that really is, but thats what I was told.

Looks like I'll be rollin' in a freakin' white Buick for a month to a month and a half.

Good God...

Holy shit! That's two in Frisco alone! Where did you go, David McDavid? Fourteenth in line? If that's true, and you went to David McDavid that means that eight more have failed since I took my car in just two weeks ago.

Yeah, but when you bounce the front with the hydraulics, it is sooooooooo cool.

Surely you can ask them to change the car when they get something different in.

Yeah, I took it to DMD. Did you already get your ride back? I hope I get mine back soon. For some reason the service rep made it seem like I would have to wait a looong time(4 week minimum).

I'm pretty sure I can get something else. The chick who gave me the car was pretty cool and said to call if I had any problems. She also waived the fact that there was a full tank of gas and said I could return it on Empty if I wanted.

Ouch, look at grandpa.
Yeah, I definetly feel like a grandpa in that thing. But its a rental car, and we ALLLL know what rental cars are good for...Bumper Cars

Ohh yeah, it doesn't have a CD player...

I have no idea how he knew I was 14th in line of 1000+, but he did. Try talking to the service foreman, I'm sure he knows. Maybe the guy you were talking to was a peon for the lack of a better term, therefore nobody tells him shit.

Are you kidding me? I was told that the best case scenario for getting my car back was end of November. Have you called AoA to complain? My biggest point is that you are now number 14 on the list. I'm number six and I took my car in just two weeks ago tomorrow. That's eight additional cars that have come in since Oct. 23rd at ONE DEALER. THAT'S FUCKING PATHETIC. This is an epidemic no matter how you slice it.

Sometime, somewhere, everybody's gonna get

The rep probably means 14th at that dealership alone out of a thousand orders nationwide. I'm number six at DMD.

Well, I had taken it in about a month or so ago. And the Service Foreman told me he would put in a ticket. He said "If it ever gets to unbearable to drive, just bring it in, and we'll take care of it."

Well, its been about a month since I put the original ticket in. Maybe my spot in line was held? Who knows. I'm just repeating what I was told.

Just for the record, that was a horrid month for driving my CL-S. Only went WOT at CL-TL meet, and like 3 other times outside of that. I hated to give her up, but what is a guy to do?

Hmm, now that I think of it, the Service guy said he had to write up a new ticket. I guess he lost my old one. Regardless of whatever the case is, I'm not a happy Acura owner.

I'm just gonna love shelling out my monthly payment for a car I currently don't posess. Ohh the joy.

Well look at the bright side it beats walking right? The parts dept.knows where their order for a trans stands in relation to orders placed at other dealers.Last time I ordered one my customer was 89 ar thereabouts.1000 sounds a bit bogus to me.Jens

I took my car in 2 weeks ago today. When I took it in the guy told me that it should only be a few days...that they corrected whatever put them on back order and that I was like # 60 something. Then a few days later I was moved up in line to like # 30 something....now they said it will be way longer like a few more weeks cuz they have not heard of any new trines going out. This is starting to get a little out of hand...now I am paying for a car I do not have and I will be contacting the dealer to see if there is any thing that can be done about it. I also contacted a lemon law attorney to see what the law was in Louisiana. If the car is out of commission for 30 days in a row it qualifies for the lemon law but there are a lot of other stipulations...so I might look into that further depending how long it will actually take to get it fixed.

I think here in Texas, its something like:
If you take the car in within the first 12K miles, or first 12 months (whichever comes first), and then bring it in again within the next 12K miles or 12 months, you qualify. But like You said, NolaCLS, Other stipulations are factored in.

Hmmm....this is interesting.

I just bought my CL-S this past Saturday (and found this site on the same nite) and I hear a lot of problems with the tranny. Is this something common or should I not worry cause I have a 2002?

I definitely don't want to deal with bringing a brand new car to the dealer and leaving it there for 1-2 months.

Yeah...I believe I got the first batch of the 2002's...had to pay close to MSRP..

If there was a manual, I would've been all over that. But the dealer dude didn't know when they were coming out???(i think he was bs-ing...and just wanted a sale that day)

I've just started waiting. Took it in on 10/23. Eight additional cars have come in in the two weeks since I dropped mine off, but it's not like all the trannys are going bad or anything..
