Told dealer tranny was slipping, they say it was ok, next day tran failure

Brought my car in to dealer to get new headlight in (original headlight got water inside), and told them my tranny didnt feel right. They said ok and when they gave my car back they said they took it for a road test, and hooked a computer to it but didnt find anything.

Next day I was driving and noticed that my foglights, which used to be Polarg M-6's were looking kinda like the stock lights. After getting to work I noticed that they indeed were stock foglight bulbs. Looks like someone at the dealer replaced my Polargs with stock bulbs without telling me..

That night I was driving in rush hour traffic when my tran starts slipping. All of a sudded i hear a loud sound and my transmission is stuck in 3rd, D5 light flashing, etc. Towed it next day to dealer and they were shocked and bewildered. Upon asking them about my foglights the mechanic came out and told me that while he was replacing the headlights, they accidentally shattered my foglights because they were too big to come out normally. Then he said they replaced them with top of the line krytonites or something like that.... too bad they look exaclty the same as the stock ones..

Anyways they told me that it might take 4 weeks to get a new transmission, so have to wait until then. They responded pretty good when I came back the second time, and gave me a loander TL for the time that I was out.

Just wanted to share my story..

Be prepared to wait at least 4 weeks for a new transmission. I'm on day 36 now. On a more positive note, 50 transmissions are supposed to be shipped today or tomorrow from the factory. My understanding is that they rebuild a bunch of them before shipping them out in mass. The only reason I am getting one of those 50 is because Acura's home office received my Lemon Law notice. It may be in your best interest to check the Lemon Law statutes for your state and as soon as the law allows, send your first notice of defect to Acura. That will get you bumped to the top of the tranny wait list.

Why did they take out the M6 to change the headlight? One simple unplug and the whole roadlamp housing is out, no need to take out the bulb. weird.

Man I might have to bring an AK to that dealer if it happened to me. That is ridiculous.
