Today's track times at Pacific Raceways

I wasn't going to actually go to the track today because the forecast called for rain but a patient of mine had an emergency root canal and my office is only about five miles from the track so....

Turns out it was a pretty nice day and temps were low 60's to high 50's. Ran my best time ever today.

60'-------2.333------2.251------2.294------2.206------2.259------2.386------2.272
1/4------14.042-----13.635-----13.795----13.605-----13.871-----13.866----13.723
MPH-----105.72-----106.18-----105.46----106.39-----105.27-----105.69----106.29

So my new personal best is 13.605@106.39. This was WITH my 19" wheels. I was running a 50/50 mix of 101 and 92 octane. I think my 60' times are getting more and more consistent but I still can't get under a 2.2xx. I might invest in slicks for next year's season. Today was the last day the track is open this year.

My last run was against a gutted beater Civic w/ slicks that ran a 12.326@110.36.

Thanks. It must be the cooler weather. I still don't get how you pull <2.2 60' times Matt. We have the same tires.

Oh BTW, I also ran next to an awesome looking Corvette Stingray that had "Official Pace Car of..." on the side. As we were getting close to lining up and realized we would end up next to each other he kinda smiled to his little boy and motioned at my car. He got me off the line but by the 1/8 mark I was passing him with ease. When I was getting back in line I saw his kid walking over to meet his dad and he literally snarled at me. Import haters in the making!

Do you think suspension would help that 60'? I have the Koni Yellows that I bought from that banned guy sittin' in the garage. I'm still not sure if they're in good enough shape to put on my baby.

...and Matt, your Avatar is giving me a headache.

Wow, thats awesome how the AUTO SCed guys are running and getting some good times! We seem to have consistent SCed CLSs running 13.5-13.8s. Good job fellas! Now if only the CLS6SCed guys would get to the track!

106mph

I need to get that belt fixed so i'm not losing boost. Do you see peak boost all the way up to redline? My boost was backing off about .5-1psi by the time I shifted.

I swear that the 101 octane mix adds AT LEAST 10 hp. Also, the temps are pretty ideal. I was almost empty after the track and filled her back up with 92. It's still peppy, but I can tell the car is holding back.

Hmmm I was sleeping on the high octane idea.

My times were with a 100% full tank of 93 octane, spare tire, and spare parts in the trunk from the S/C install.

The spare parts probably wouldn't make a difference, but a FULL tank will hurt. 93 octane is pretty sweet though. This mix was 50/50 101 and 92...so I guess that averages to about 96 or so. I have no idea if octane works that way.
