Tl lip kits for Cl

I found a guy on eBay who makes OEM style lip kits for around $325 plus about $100 shipping. I searched his eBay store and found he makes 02-03 Acura TL lip kits that fit 99-01 TL's. I asked him if he could made TL lip kits that could fit my 2nd gen CL... He said it would be pretty easy as long as he had a CL that he could use as a model. So here's what I'm getting at. The guy's shop is in Toranto and I'm in Northern California. I would gladly do it if he were here... If there are any 2nd gen CL owners out there in Toronto interested in a TL lip kit the guy could make and sell them to the rest of us. (You could say that your car was "the one" used as the model that made mass produced TL lip kits for CL's).

That's exactly what I told the guy (I'm not really feeling the Mugen style air dams on the bottom either). He said he could do both styles as long as he has a CL do model them from.

I believe other members have inquired about this to and it seems to be fiberglass instead of polyurethane that's why they backed off.

Other guys can chime in and correct me where I'm wrong.

Importzillia or something like that right? if you read the fine print that seller makes them with fiberglass. If you read his feedback, i think there were a few ppl that bought it for their acuras and well, they didn't work out... there's a thread on this in the TL forum.

I would be a guinea pig! You should ask if he could make them out of polyurethane. I don't know anything about fabricating bodykits, but if he had a mold, he could use any material to make it right? Just a thought.

fiberglass works until you pull a little to far up at that curb or hit that trash on the highway.

If he makes it poly he will definitely get business, what's his number the CL crew in Toronto we'll go and "talk" to him about poly.

Gnizzil can get real crazy though I say let Typestylin' do the talking he's the smooth talker.

I doubt he'd use poly, because it's probably cheaper for him to make with fiberglass.

If he were to use poly, he could adjust the price accordingly......with as many members that would be all over him about these kits, he would still make a killing!

Sent an email, it went like this....

Hi,

I'm just inquiring if you could possibly do the lip kit in polyurethane instead of fiberglass. I understand that it would cost more but it seems that alot of CL owners are interested in it provided it is polyurethane. Is it possible to be made and what would a quote be.

Here is the link to the forum where a group buy is also possible, feel free to join and answer any questions they/we might have.
https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=717503

Cheers,
Wes

a poly mold is two sided and the poly is injected under pressure. the fiberglass mold is just a one sided form that the glass can be laid in from the back side. i see the poly mold/process being very expensive and cost prohibitive. but continue on.

entire factory kit. shit i bought 2 of them dirt cheap off ebay, about 1.5 years ago.

i don't think the seller knows the difference between the 99-01 TL front lip and the 02-03 TL front lip, b/c this image is clearly a later year's TL front lip.

....and no one in this subforum is looking to buy a 99-01 bumper, they're looking to buy a lip.

if the seller he has the wrong information from the get-go, then this project/petition might as well be abandoned now.

can u post the ebay ad u found this on? because OEMLIP.com is a site based in QUEBEC, not Toronto, im not sure if this is the same thing/person

Also oemlip.com does do local pick ups, its near Montreal, whereas some lip kits i found on ebay say "no local pick up"
