Compared to the stock tires they are much, much better -- wet or dry. Of course a toy wagon wheel is probably better then the stock tires.

These are all season tires, and therefore will never be the 'best' tire for a given specific application (ie: there are better summer tires, there are better snow tires...). That being said, I still think they're quite good and do well at exactly what they were designed for.

Look: Uglier

Thread wear: 400 vs 280. I have them on for more than 3K and appearantly they havent worn out much.

Traction: worse. probably better than stock but still squeal on hard turns. Spin like crazy on wet pavement.

Installation: Seems like they were hard to balance because my rims have ton of balancing weight now.
You cannot compare treadwear between manufacturers!

When you are comparing tires within a particular brand, use the UTQG ratings (treadwear) to calculate value; divide the treadwear rating by the price—the highest number should be your pick if you want the best value by wear. This system won't help you compare between brands, however, because there is no standardization for wear scoring.
Those number are pretty much meaningless... (when you have two different manufacturers)

As I've said a few times now. The sumi's start off great. But there performance goes down hill rapidily past 10k miles. LOL, no I'm not smoking something. And others who I also know who have them have said the same thing. They are just not speaking out on the topic.

Lets not also forget usable tread wear is considered until 2/32's of a inch. A lot of tires will have traction problems in wet weather at 4/32's of a inch... so there is a lot of things to be considered in the long run. I also wouldn't listen to anyones review if they haven't used the tire for 15k+ miles. And also on your type of vehcile. Weight and alignment can be very different between vechicles (i.e. models/makes). As well as any modifications the person may have made.

Good luck with your purchase!

Hey kensteele, how do you like those tires you bought last summer?

They suck. I wouldn't buy them again.

I bought them a month ago. side walls are soft so the ride is a little bouncy. they are not rated for the weight of our car.

I might be the only person on the site who doesn't like the sumos. With this tire, you get what you pay for. If you are lucky, you may get 20k out of the tire.
