tire ?

i have to get 2 new tires for my CL.

is it good idea to put 215/40/R18 on the front and put 215/35/R18 on the back.

i don't want to put 35's because it is so easy to bent my rim.

I would highly suggest NOT. Although I am not a mechanic.... But I know that it would screw with your anti-lock brakes. It would think that the smaller/larger tire was locking up, because it would be turing slower/faster. I forget which way it goes, but the system would conastantly think that one part of the car is skidding.

just my guess... Anyone else?

CLean, you are correct. His traction control will think 2 of his tires have lost traction because of the difference in wheel speeds. It will also affect his ABS and VSA, and his speedo.

CL-zero, may I ask why you are running those size tires (215\35\18)? For an 18, you should have at least 225\40\18's, or to keep it as close to stock rolling diameter as possible, 235\40\18. 235\40\18 is like 0.1in off of stock rolling diameter. At 70mph your speedo would read 69.9.

ok. so i have to get 35's again.

i bought my rim and tires from internet and they say 215/35/R18 is the best. i didn't know about tires at the time so i was like "OK".
there are 3 mph differlence between speedo and acual speed.
speedo=45 real spped=42 but i was like this before i changed rim and tire.

i feel like i got ripped off.

Any way you could afford to spring for 4 tires? 235\40\18? By the way, are you lowered? I think you'd be much happier going with that tire size. Softer ride, more rim protection, and overall look 10 times better. Nice wide rubber too.

I actually had my friends 215\35\18's from his Prelude on my CL one time .. I'm dropped and they still looked awful. Handled great because no sidewall, but the ride was way too harsh and even with my lowered CL the wheel gap was ridiculous.

235/40/18 excellent. 225/4018 is ok too. I have comptech Honda accord springs in the front and 235/40/18 rub a little on top of fender liner.
