Tinting Questions, Please help.
I went to get an estimate for my tints to day and i wanted like a 25 or 30 % tint all the way around. The guy says they dont make 25 or 30, only 5, 20, 35, and 50. I think 20 is too dark and it will be even worse w/ the black leather, but 35 is way to light. Is this guy bullshittin me on the tint %. This place is suposed to be the best tint shop around and they only got 4 different tint choices. He also said he can go around the brake light w/ out takin out the back seat cause theres a lil room between the light and the glass, is this true?? Should i mention the black dots on the back to him?? I think if i'm forced to i'm gonna end up doing 20% on the back winshield, and 35% on the sides. Any one have pics of tints like that, i think 35% is too light for the sides.
Thanks for the help guys, I really appreciate it!!

well, i'm not too much for using different tints on the same car. you think 20% will be too dark? i think you should take a look at a black car with 20%. i have 20% on my black CL-S and it looks awesome! that tints matches our color so well.
but everyone has prefs, you should take a look at a car in person.

There is a 100% chance you will be pulled over and ticketed in Novi, W Bloom and Farm Hills.
The local cops have really picked up their lookout and excuse to pull you over since the recent killing from excessive speed....

Darrin. I did the 35% all around. I haven't had any problems and drive through your neck of the woods on a regular basis. Besides, take into consideration that the tint will look darker on the car when looking through it. For instance, if viewing from the passenger's side. The driver's side reduces the light coming in making the whole thing look darker. When you just hold a piece of tint up to the sun, or have a single sheet in the display window at the local shop. You don't get the true effect.
Here's a good example of such. Check out the passenger's rear quarter glass with the rear window behind it. As opposed to the little portion of the driver's rear quarter you can see through the open window.

I don't know what the laws in MI are on tint density, but here in FL I use a 20% all around. It's hot and bright here, plus the 20% does a good job keeping it cool in the car. It is not too dark at night either. It looks cool too. Good luck!
