Tinting issue

I got my CL tints done on friday and today is sunday and i still see small bubbles on my back window and side. One of my friend that drives an accord says once they remove my back tint off and then tint again my defroster won't work no more. Is this true?

I just had my tinting redone (removed old tint and put in new llumar tint). Defroster works like before w/no problems. Depending on how the type of film, how much water they used, and how good the installers are is what makes an excellent or ok tint job. I had tiny bubbles for about 2 days but they are gone now (you are suppose to keep the car in the sun for 8-20 hours for full curing and heating for proper adhesion.

That's about right. I did tinting for a stereo shop for awhile, and the saying we used was "the wetter, the better". The fact that they used lots of liquid during application would lead me to believe they probably did a good job. Give it up to a week for bubbles...if it is still there, go and bitch.

I relaize I went too dark tint (hard to see out at night) on the rear and back sides, my tint shop wants $100 to remove and retint the 3 windows, but they would not guarantee the defroster would not get damaged. I haven't decided what to do.

Why? yours will be fine, most bubbles dry out and go away, any left after a week or two, take it back, they can fix them without removing tint, no big deal.
just don't park behind me at night or watch out!

it depends on the weather...for me, I had to wait about 4-5 days becasue at the time, there wasn't too much sun out...just wait it out a few more days.

Racersky....I wouldn't worry. I was worried too when they redid mine. My car is a 2003 and the original place that did the tinting (before I got it) did an aweful job. The place I take all my cars too (in FL) always does an incredible job. He said a VERY experienced tint installer should be precise enough to do it (whether the tint is 1 year old or 10). You could always come here to Gainesville, FL to get it done!

P.S.....llumar top of the line film only needs 24-48 hours to fully cure as long as it cures in full sun. After that, you can roll your windows down.

Mine was bubbly as shit for about a week.

Once everything dried up it was perfect.

Give it a couple more days.

When I had mine re-done, I removed the rear deck and brake light to get the whole window. I guess I was lucky with the deforster lines then.

i just got back from my tinting place and they said the bubble had pop so they gonna redo my right passenger window tomorrow. Also there's some imperfections like small lilttle lines and stuff but they said that's normal it's gonna happen every once in a while or sooner or later. Plus it really isn't noticable lol. What a nice guy. Get to have my window fixed tomorrow but then i can't roll down my right window for a while. Yeah Ed i got 35% just like you

My friend got his grandmas corolla from florida and when he went to get it inspected it didnt pass ebcause there was soem dark tint on it. so he went and got it removed and it ripped the defroster lines off. he ended up having to get a new rear windshield i think.

edit: also i was thinking about gettign soem darker tint on my side windows anyone know if i can remove my old tint to save on retinting cost? also has anyone put vinyl over their dotmatrix themselves or covered it themselves. i'm ttrying to look into coverign that up.
