Tint/Rear Deck issues

I want to take my girl in and get some of that good 5% limo all around, but usually I uninstall the brake light in the rear so the installers wont screw anything up and do an extra clean job, and I wont blame them for losing any tabs or things. I noticed thought that the brake light is unlike other vehicles, its sits below the deck, do I really have to slide out the entire reck deck panel just to remove the brake light housing, what a pain in the ass, its already hot this summer, I do not know if I can live another day without the tint.

According to Shawn S, if you want tint behind the brake light, you have to pull the rear seats and deck...you can PM him with questions.

dude, you gotta take out the entire back seat to get that break light out...have fun, its a pain in the ass, but worth it to not have the tint cut around the light

And you do know that it is not legal to have tint blocking that light?

Thanks for the heads up guys on that back seat, As lazy as I am, I may just roll clear glass for a while. I had no idea it was illegal to tint over your rear brake light. Here in SoCal, I thought you could literally spray paint all your windows black except you cannot have any window film of anykind on the two fronts, and you have to have a right-hand side mirror. Any SoCal-ers out there to shed some light on this?

BTW - does the bottom seat pop-up first, then reveal bolts for the top seats? Is there a post with maybe pics of the job? I cannot roll with the cut-out, never!!!

Hey jimcoll711,

I noticed you got 20% all around, did you pull out the stuff yourself, or did the installers do it for you before they layed on the film?

i took out all the back seat and rear parcel shelf myself before i took it in...thats the best way, otherwise they either dont do it at all, or they will want like an extra 100 bucks to do it, as it is time consuming
