Does anybody know any good tint shops in NYC or close to it...

Also, why is it difficult to tint over the dot matrix, and does anybody have pices of it tinted over, not over...

Thanks...

BTW...Thanks to Scooter, AztecRol and NoleCLS for your help with my PIAA's ...I'm goin to be doing a complete PIAA overhaul ..I got my dome light, fog lights and reverse lights done...just waiting for the 19172's to come in...Thanks...

Mine is done OVER the “dots”.
The reason this is so tricky is because the surface is uneven and it’s hard for the adhesive to get a good grip on the dots or glass.
Mine looks fine unless your nose is right up to the glass.
I’ve seen it done both ways and think it looks too light from the inside if you don’t do the back window completely.
I’ve tried to take a close-up shot before, but it doesn’t show up in the photo and looks all black.

Does anyone know of a good tint shop in NYC or around there?

Shawn S,

Is there a particular reason you got the back window tinted darker then the sides?

Also where'd u get your tint done around there (I'm the one who goes to Lehigh)...Do you like the job they did...

BTW I'd love to see your car some time ...

Thanks

I live in Central NJ, and the guy that did mine, tinted over the dots and it looks fine. I can give you the info if you don't mind a small drive to NJ. Also make sure you take out the rear brake light so the entire window can be done.

I had only 35% on the back window of my 2001.
When a big truck or SUV got up behind me at night the lights still came GLARING through the glass.
Now it’s much better and looks about the same when looking out from the inside.

I got it done at Thermal Sun Screen on 14th St in Allentown.

Ask for Fred, he knows me quite well after tinting my last SIX vehicles since 1986.

I think I may have seen you around town once or twice.
I see a Black CL on RT-512 or over on 3rd street in Bethlehem getting onto RT-378 a few times.
There aren’t many CL’s around here, so I notice when I see one.

What must be done to take the brake light out, wouldn't a tint place do it for you?

Shawn S,

That might of been me gettin on 378, b/c I'm always goin to the Lehigh Valey Mall...

Yeah there aren't many of us around there...My Mkt Prof has a white CLS and there's a red CLS at Lehigh...

I'll keep my eye out for the "blue blinger" ...

Thanks...
