timing belt service Q

timing belt service Q

My local dealer offer me to do the timing belt service for 650 dollars.
service includes, Timing Belt, Water Pump, Tensioner Pully, Drive Belt and fresh Coolant.

Is the service complete and has a fair price?
any suggestions?

Make sure they do the seals, as well. That is a good dealer price though!

missing spark plugs too. valve adjustment would be good too but they are going to charge extra for that. I think theres also a idler pulley too.

My valve adjustment had the biggest impact out of everything I did to my CL. The car ran better than it ever had... perfect idle!

Valvue adjustment is always needed. A good tech should be able to tell if it's needed just by listening. If it's not needed, its just wasted money.

90$ for a h22a so maybe 135$ for a J series?
OR
10$ for a good feeler gauge and straight head screw driver and 3 hours of patience. Just remember, cam lob on the bottom and only some resistance on the feeler gauge, shouldn't be tough to pull it out.

I'm going to do my j32a2 as soon as I can the turbo kit fabricated.
