Timeing belt & water pump.
Just was thinking, as I am getting closer to having this adjustment done I had a couple of questions for you CL members that have already had this adjustment done. I have a buddy that knows somone that is a acura/honda tech and I can most likely thinking that I could get him to do the adjustment for at least half of the stealership cost. What routes have you guys taken in getting this done... stealership, friend, did it yourself?? What is a ballpark range price of the parts alone and whats included? Also what is the safe mileage to get this adjustment done, is it 107k or can you wait till later, I see some of you waited longer than the manufaturer recommendations. Last thing, after the adjustment has been made does the car run just as well as it did before the adjustment, and is it actually a "bad thing" to get this adjustment done? Pre-shate it!:

Check out this link, there's a few threads near the bottom all about the big 105k maintenance. Try searching also. I remember a few threads where guys talk about what they paid for the parts (bought them themselves), and just paid a shop for the install. The car won't be "brand new" again after the maintenance, but it should run a bit smoother. It's definitely a good thing to do it.
Is this maintenance solely based on milage and not age of the car???

I would get it done asap. i waited to long and i was always worried about it, had mine done at 140000 way over what you should get it done at. it only cost me 580 parts and labor, plus the guy fixed my broken motor mount for no extra cost. The dealer told me that it would be 1150 for the timing belt, and 200 for the motor mount, i would say i got a good deal.

It depends because you are supposed to get it done at 105K but if you have an older car (10-12 yrs. old) that for some reason hasnt hit 105K you might still want to replace the timing belt because it is rubber and will wear out over time
