Time has come, and she's gone :-(

Just wanted to let you guys know that i finally took a step backwards and got rid of my CL-S. I just wanted to say thanks for all your info and tips on this board. I had some good laughs on here. And it was one hellofa way to make time fly while at this BORING job of mines... I said " i took a step backwards" because i got a 2000 Civic Si meaning No heated seats, no back up tilting mirror, no leather, no power seats, dimming mirror, NO 6 DISK IN DASH , its sad to let the car go BUT the 50.00 gas every week, and the tranny issue is out of the way.... Here are pics of my new girl...

this one has some work to it...
it has
1. Tein Suspension
2. Apexi AFC
3. DC Sport Headers
4. AEM Truetime Pullies
5. Greddy CatBack Exhaust
6. Carbon Fiber Intake (switching to cai)
7. Racing Hart rims with yoko tires
it has some other things to it but i cant rememeber what else...

Nice man..Always loved that Si and it having work already done on it is even better. Now make sure you get lojack because that thing will be watched like a hawk. Take that Si badge off the back so they think it's just a regular civic. Are you coming to the meet on Sunday with it?

Sweet Si bud! Enjoy it, I would.

How many miles did you have on the CL and navi or non-navi? I think you told me once but I can't remember.

Passanger side tilts down in R. But the power mirror switch has to be in the center position.

I spend about $40 a week, and I drive about 12.5K miles a year... Sounds like it's just a little above average to me

i really cant say... the si has more of a kick when vtec hits, and you can stay in vtec alot longer (8200rpms) ... but the cl had more in the lower rpms... but if it was a race between the 01 CL-s (stock) and the si i have now, I really dont know what to say what the outcome would be... i know this si fly's on the highway i got to 120 with ease , it didnt struggle when i got to 115 like my cl did

OMG, I used to have a 94 Grand Cherokee (ZJ) V8 laredo. giant POS man. I had constant problems, starter, water pump, radiator, tranny, wiring short in driver door, etc. I easily spent 10k in repairs for that jeep. If I was smarter I would have got rid of it a long time back, but I loved going offroad with it. (went with the guy from JeepsUnlimited.com) Anyways, just keep that in mind, but I'll never buy Chrysler again. Plus their mechanics are Class A morons. They were trying to sell me a new power steering unit, when all that was wrong with the jeep was the CV-Joints. Then I did a U-Joint conversion.. few months later, tranny starts going bad (wouldn't shift into 1st gear) .. and the guys said that the U-Joints is what caused the tranny issues.. What a clown, might as well tell me it's my CB antenna causing my jeep to overheat. It seriously felt like I was dealing with the reject mechanics from Pep Boys.

(ok, sorry for highjacking the tread)

Btw, sweet car, my friend had a 99' SI. Great fun, nice and light weight. I'm sure you'll have a lot of fun driving it!
And also, good job with the negotiations!

I'm not scared. Besides, I will do all of my own work and find out whats wrong with it on my own. That alone will save me big bucks.

Also, I'm only looking to buy one with a 4.0L, not a V8. They are tried and true motors that will run forever when cared for. The starter and water pump would really be considered routine maintenance after so many miles and as for the trannies... Well, I'm certain I have less to worry about with a Cherokee than I would ever have on the CL. Especially after all the research I've been doing lately. Trust me, I'm doing my homework man. Since I can't find one with ultra low miles, I'm pretty much stuck with buying one with quite a few miles on it. At this point, one with 60K is a good find for me. Damn Jeep for the discontinue!

BTW, I plan to break it from time to time anyway once it gets lifted.

Sorry for the 609! Carry on!

Lol, something was wrong with your CL if you had a hard time getting to 115mph. I could do that with ease.

i don't think the cl is really that slow in fourth gear. it just seems like that because it falls out of vtec and loses the ass raped monkey sound.

While it is a downgrade from the CL-S (and one that I do not think I could do) , I do love the 99-00 Si. Have fun with it.
