ok so i have been noticing that i hear a clickn and tickn noise under the hood and under my car. i hear it when i pass by curbs and other cars at low speeds.......
i think its just sound coming from the headers. could it be motor noise the exhaust is resonating making it louder?
what i have checked.
Oil level good, no exhaust leaks, motor mounts good.

im stumped, the car runs fine and theres no leaks or anything just sounds bad when i sit at a traffic light or at a car meet.

any suggestions on what it could be???

 

valves or purge solenoid

 

can someone explain the purge solenoid?

and i talked to the acura dealer about the valves and they said "a valve adjustment?" they are hydraulic lifters so y would u need them adjusted?

 

it says right in the owner's manual that a valve adjustment is needed upon inspection of valve clearances at the 105k service.

the purge solenoid is nothing. it always ticks, its not broken or anything. Theres a thread about the purge solenoid and someone said their MPGs improved after replacing it but there was no evidence of that.
