I got my 1st ticket in the CLS about a month ago, after owning it almost a year. I usually get about 2 or 3 tickets a year, so this was good going. I usually get tickets in batches of two or three, and just got another last week. I was on an unusually partolled back road by my house that I usually floor it down there. There was a M/C cop hiding behind a tree! I usually just do deffered disposition or defensive driving to keep them off my record. The lawyer is a last resort as they often forget about your ticket and then you get a warrant on your name!

No joke, atleast thats how it works in PA for me. I schedule a trial date go in, the officer always speaks to me first. They always say ill give you no points but you still have to pay the fine. I wish i had connects but i got none.

Sux man, I know exactly how ur feelin I have had 3 in all myself to. I know that 40 East headin towards wilmington is always cop territory. My buddy used to go their every weekend and eventually moved there , and is back now but once or twice, I cant remember he got him a ticket on 40. All of mine were in raleigh though!! The last time I got pulled in Feb I almost wanted to laugh, because I couldn't believe it, I wasn't even goin terriably fast. All I can do now is pray I don't get pulled again.

first written warning last week, got me on radar coming around a corner downhill 65 in a 45. Just told him I honestly didnt know the limit but I wasnt paying attention to my speed either so i am sorry. Just make a cop feel like your happy they pulled you over and you will get off...NEVER ARGUE!!!!!!!!!!..(Learned that with my old civic by the 8th ticket of random stuff).

In 2 years with the "pull me over red" CL S 6MT, I've only received one ticket. My V1 was being repaired and I made the bad decision to roll the windows down instead of using the AC. I sped up to get some more air into the car, next thing you know I've got an unmarked impala with strange blue lights in its grill right on my bumper. Nothing to brag about on the speed either, it was only 74 in a 55.

Exclamation

I haven't even been looked at by a cop in my silver 03 CLS-6MT.

I did get pulled over several times in my Red Integra GSR. However, the last 4 times I was pulled over (1999-2002) I was not ticketed. I think cops tend to pick on younger guys. When you never, ever get carded anymore you will probably get less tickets.

Also I have learned a few tricks over the years.

Don't speed on short trips. I live near an expressway that's about 7 miles long. Cops are there with radar guns almost every day. The speed limit is 55 mph. So you drive 60mph for 7 miles in 7 minutes. If you go 70 you get there 1 minute faster and risk a ticket. That doesn't make much sense.

On long highway trips where you can trim an hour or more off your trip:
Don't be the fastest one on the road. Let some other hotshoe lead the way and follow about 1/4 mile behind.
Don't stay in the left lane.
Keep an eye on your rear view for cops. I was let off by a CHP because he started after me and before he had lights on I was moving over. I told him that I wasn't watching my speed, just keeping a safe distance to the car in front of me. I told him that when I moved over I didn't know he was a cop and I was just getting out of his way. He let me go.

Once I got a bullshit ticket and I used a book called "Beat Your Ticket" to go to court and I won. Here's the link:

http://www.nolo.com/resource./catID/...8BE0E/104/263/

One thing I noticed in court is that most people pleaded not guilty then admitted to doing whatever they were cited for. "Your honor, I did it but I have a really good excuse" doesn't cut it with the Judge. They were all fined.

Clocked at 118 in a 70, racing a 96-98 Cobra on a WIDE open 2 lane highway. He wasnt pulling on me much, but the cop sure did pull me.......over. lol

It just fell off my record, and have been ticket free for over 2 yrs now.

he wrote me up for a 100 in a 70, which was still like $200 and 4 points, plus $400 in drivers responsibilty over the next 2 yrs, so it was def not cheap.

I def got lucky though, coulda been much worse.

4 in 8 months. got car in december 2005 and last ticket in august 2006.

lets see. 1st ticket ever in any car (CLis my first anyway!)= 25 in a 20!! how gay!! still pisses me off.
#2 was 50 in a 30 zone but i thought i was still in the 40 zone which changes so fast b/c of the residential area that comes. shoulda never happened.
#3 60 in a 40. just being stupid and pushing the gas. o well, caught red handed.
#4 was 30 in a 20 going around a corner and my radar went off too late b/c of turn. another that coulda been avoided.

actually monday, this happened. im still amazed and id get if someone doesnt belieev it but it did happen. i was driving home from work (20 min drive). i notice a blacked out SUV driving pretty fast in front of me. my thoughts= "hey traffic's moving. no way! i can drive a little faster if i want..." well at next light (red) i pull up next to the SUV. so at green i accelerate normally to 40 in Sport shift mode. i decide to hit. i hit 80 and stopped (night little traffic). i look in my side mirror and im like "holy shit that SUV is keeping up. wow!" suddenly hit red and blue lights go on. an undercover cop! to finish this up. the guy was MAD ANGRY ETC!!!! but they let me go b/c i was coming from work and i was scared! talk about caught red handed...

Just, to set this thread off, I see alot of you either got lucky or got busted, to let you guys know on the last ticket I got 50/50. I actually was drinkin that night, and was headin home and I just got some gas, and I was goin down the road to get home , and I look in my rear view, and see a car gaining on me pretty quick! And sure enough it was the 5-0!! To make a long story short I got pulled he did a sobriety test and passed, and did the breathalizer test, and passed!! But on the darker side the 5-0 still gave me a ticket for speeding, but used whats called a PJC here in NC and just had to pay court cost. I got lucky!!

Well went to court this morning for my 61 in a 45mph ticket. The trooper agreed to bring it down to a 50 in 45 pay the fine and no points. Im very happy with that because in PA 5mph over does not show up on your record and doesnt accumulate any points, therefore its not reported to the insurance company. I was looking a $155 fine and 4 points....instead just had to pay $120 and no points...very happy with the outcome, the cop was cool with it since the judge recommended it since I never had a speeding ticket before. SO i guess I can say i got 1/2 a ticket in my CL-S lol

Man you got really lucky! Don't let something so stupid as speeding get you in deep shit, weather it be 20 over or 50, the cops would love to take a nice car like the CL away from us!! So drive defesively and always have the radars on, and your foot on the gas and brake, and your eyes peeled for them pesky pigs, its just a car, and its not a privlage to drive I believe its our right as an american citizen to drive how we want to! To everone out there be safe and drive as safe as possible because if you dont old JR Deputy will make sure you do! And remember to the pigs all they are thinkin from the time they pull you for speeding is money $$$$$$$ Maby if there were less cops rolling around our gas prices would some what be a little more reasonable??

Especially the one about do not hang in the left lane.

Remember, if God meant us to get speeding tickets he wouldn't have given us V1s.

Though with laser it's getting harder and harder.

Okay Two Weeks After I Got The Car (got My Cls On April 30, 2007) I Got My First Ticket. Going 86 On A 55. On Saturday I Got Pulled Over @ 214 For "blocking Traffic" Put I Didn't Get A Ticket. I Am Going To Court For The Speeding One. I Was Not Paying Attention (and Like A Idiot I Was On The Left Lane ) Because I Don't Want Any Points On My License. The State Trooper Was Cool And Told Me If I Go To Court And Pay The Fine That He Will Take The Points Off. Hopefully Everything Goes Well In September (my Court Date)!

Can anyone with similar speeding can tell me what I'm facing beside the rape fine?
I was stopped by a state po-po in unmarked dark crown victoria at night for 111 in 55 zone racing other guy in A4 2.0T (they didn't clock it cause I asked for evidence and he said it will be discussion between the judge and him) so I suspect no evidence. I've got 2 tickets - speeding and drag racing. I know I regretted later and was stupid, and Audi was a lucky biatch. I will get an attorney but did anyone with similar experience can tell me how bad it will be and what approximate the fine is along with consequences? What's crazy is that the 1st ticket for the past 7 years I'm driving and first in my TL.
