those who have purchased or sold a 01-02 cl-s recently

can you please list the mileage, condition and NAV/no NAV.

for buyers, was it a private purchase or dealer purchase, and what did you pay?

for sellers, did you sell to a private party or trade in at a dealer, and what did you get for the car? if you sold to a private party, how long did it take?

thanks for the info.

you did well

the max the dealer will give me is $13,700. my car has 64,500 mi. w/ no navi.

i just don't know if it would be worth the hassle to sell it outright and hope for 15-16K.

Matt,

Let let me just say this....15K-16K you will be very lucky, maybe selling the car privately, forget about the number on a trade in.

About 1 month ago i was offered 16K by a honda dealer, on trade for a Merc, but they would not come of anything on the price. Everything else has been around $12 to 14K at best, from other dealers.....

When I sold mine to Snaps in November with: 57k miles Tafetta White/Parchment w/o Nav, CT headers, AEM CAI, and HKS Exhausts, CT springs, $17,700

So that would make it a private party sale.

this is also the best time for me to get rid of my car and retain some decent value for it.

i will miss my cl-s terribly though.

Got mine a year ago for about $18K. 2001 CL with 32K miles on it, no navi. Price was a bit more because the car came with mods. But it was still a better price than what I was getting at the dealers.

Good luck with the new car.

if they don't replace my transmission under warranty, I was thinking about getting the exact same car this morning.

But I'd much rather have a house.

My brother bought a new truck. So we looked up trade in values for his old truck recently, and while I was there, I looked up the value of my 6spd (trade in and private sale)

Bought mine a little over a year ago. No nav around 65-70xxx miles. 12,000.

Weird but I got a good deal on this car at the time. It now has 87000 miles on it looks and runs like new. I think about the overall condition of the car for having so many miles-clean engine bay. I think this car will easily last me 5 years and still be in great condition. so what the resale turned to shit Becasue they dont make them anymore and the tranny has a small %of problems. Its also fun to drive around a nice car, a head turning car,and not owe a dime on it.(Mine will be paid off soon)

Looks like all the heavily modded CL-S's are headed for the used car lot...

Scalbert, me, mattg, even Smitty has been contemplating it

They are going to replace it under factory warranty, even though I left the N20 in there when I took it to the dealer.

So it looks like no Turbo AWD for me... yet...

Got my '01 CL-S 5AT no-Navi w/ 37k on it for $17,600 from a Honda dealer. Car was in good shape aside from the minor door dings and scratches... Actually, I wish I would have looked the car over more in the daylight... The deal may have went differently if I did. They put on new tires (Falkens-hate'em), new wipers (Anco's that are noisy and leave marks at the stopping points), a new battery (no problems....yet.), and they did an alignment.

But speaking of Acura's bought at Honda dealers, can anyone tell me why the hell you can't purchase an Acura "certified" from the Honda dealership? All the Honda's are certified but they don't certify the Ac's. What gives?

Well matt,

As I had time today, I went to carmax just to see how much they would give, to cut a long story short.

My 01 CLS with 54000miles, got a rating of between good and excellent, in the notes the appraiser wrote, " Well Maintained Vehicle. Out of factory warranty, nice car"

Appraisal Market Value $12000 ..... Kinda what i expected, but i still feel it was a low offer
