Just put in an elbow SRI on my car instead of the CT Icebox. The whine from the blower is louder, but i am not getting that growl I used to get before I had the blower. Wanted to know if you guys with the superchargers get that growl at all? I miss that sound.
PS, I am changing the filter soon, don't sweat the crinkle.

My car growls when I don't go past 50% throttle, but it's not from the s/c.
You're going to get more whine because your motor is working harder with the hotter air.
I've tried many intake options and I've noticed, creating lag/hotter air = more whine.

as far as the "growl" , there is obviously going to be less because of the blower, with like how a turbo quiets down the exhaust on cars, it's a major restriction in order for that "growl" to get out of the intake
so instead of getting the pulses from each cylinder sucking in it's air, you get more of a consistent sucking sound, kinda like a vacuum cleaner, especially when you put the "power" unit in a different room, and hear the air rushing into the wand
and personally i still rather have the whine, instead of the growl
edit: as others have kinda said with the size of the air filter
but yes i personally would still rather see it stuff down behind the bumper though (or at least some type of heat shield) for cooler air (every bit helps, and sometimes could mean the difference between getting knock and retarded timing, OR getting full power)
