thinking about going back to stock...

ride height that is. since I got comptech springs and tokico hp's 6 weeks ago (and an alignment) and it ruined my focking car. I think I just have bad luck.

vibration in steering wheel at 50+ and inside edges of tires worn = dealer said I needed a camber kit. tuner shop said they have no idea why its happening, but definitely a camber kit won't help. ruined my original front tires, now I have the rears on the front and I am checking for wear...

clunking noise from front end = front axle is now loose

'springy' noise from rear end = don't know what the hell causes this, but it sounds like a rusty mattress spring whenever i go over speed bumps.

and I know I've asked this before....but does the front end look too low, even considering the CT spring 'rake'?

just pissed right now.

I wanted a subtle drop and no problems with camber or any of that shit, thats why I got CT springs. Instead I have all sorts of problems and people commenting on how low my car is.

I just had CT front springs on a 6 speed and looks similar from what I can tell. hard to see the gap from the tire in the pic.

I don't know how to help you with your situation. One thing's for sure, i'll get my dealer to make any mods on my car. That's the only way to make sure that if something else breaks because of the mods, i won't be help responsible....

Confused, are you concerned about the mechanical problems or the aesthetics? Looks good to me, I used to have a white 6 speed. I'd get a reputable shop to check it over fully, something is wrong.

I dont care so much about the look, I'm concerned that the front is lower than it should be, and this is contributing to the problems in my front end.

Again I just did the CT front springs only on a 6 speed. 6 speeds sit much higher in the front that automatics, so mine probably dropped almost 1/2" more or so than yours. Since my back springs are still stock this is making the front even lower than CT becasue of the wedge and higher rake from front to back. I am having no clunks or lose parts. I know you had yours on for 6 weeks but even that is a short time to now say your tires are shot.
Something else is contributing to your issues besides 6 weeks of springs, IMO.

Here is how my car looks with the CT springs on the stock shocks. The wheels are 18's and the tires are 225/40/R18.

Hope this helps...seems to me like something was not installed properly installed to begin with. I have none of the issues that you are speaking about at all.

It looks to me like the drop is about right...but the noises and wear seems abnormal.

I had the springs/shocks installed 5/29/04. I checked, and my tires were in perfect shape.

6/29/04 I got my car up on the lift, insides of front tires were completely shot...worn down to slicks.

4pumped or any AZ guys...can someone recommend a shop? I need to get this POS into a new shop and have them check it out. The place I went is supposed to be real good...but apparently they fucked up something.

just this one from the boards - hard to see the gap but you can see the rake to the back stock springs, look at the bottom edge of the car. changing the rears out in a week to CT.

strange that you would have these kind of problems w/ the most basic of mods.

my car was rock solid and completely in alignment w/ CT springs

Me too, i didn't want a lowrider or rough ride, I just wanted the car to look like it should have stock. I know someone will be able to figure yours out, maybe the shocks were set wrong.

I told you before that my drop looked just like your beetroot. I'm not having any problems though. And I did my shocks and springs myself.

Who installed them?

Us AZ guys don't go to shops, because shops here suck. I'm on Eibach pro-kit with stock shocks and my car is way lower in the front. The dealer aligned my car and it's not to sepc, but the tires don't wear abnormally. My rear has 2* negative camber and I have no wear issues there either.

Something must be installed improperly although that's hard to belive because it's so f'n easy to do the front springs.

which dealer aligned your car with that drop? I called Bell Acura and Scottsdale, neither would touch mine since it was dropped.

I hate dealers, the dealers here sell Comptech and you have dealers there that won't align it cause it has Comptech. The dealers here better not pull that.

I would really like to drop my car a little, but after seeing BEETROOT's problems I am definately reconsidering. I would have to find someone I trust to do it, but I don't know of anyone around her that is trustworthy. Too bad I never see any other modded CLs in my area so I could ask them where they get stuff done.

this shit shouldn't happen. the majority of the people on this site have changed the suspension with no problems.

something just got screwed up for me.

have all your work done at a dealer and I think you should be fine.

might cost a little more, but its worth it.

Go here. www.tiresplus.com These guys typically have awesome customer service. Last time I went there they machined my rotors for free, just because it didn't take them very long. They've also done a few other things for free for me like repaired a tire and rotated them. I always take my car there, because I know they won't me.

check ur tokiko shocks and make sure they r not leaking. squeeky noise from suspension is morelikely because of the shocks.
Check if ur springs are installed right.
Check ur front axle.

The best way to solve your problem is (if $ is not an issue) : get Coilovers + get a set of new front axle.

In about 2 weeks...hopefully...my car will be back together and I'd be happy to pull yours in the garage and take a look at things for you. I've probably lowered 20+ cars in my life...it's difficult to mess up, but it's possible. Let me know if you're interested.

Bell acura did mine. I had it done on my water-pump recall and it was around $60

I think it is your Tokico struts that is creating all these problems. If your springs don't seat right you will have clunking noise. Oh, you might want to try some spring tube on the rear springs. I think that is what it is call. It is a rubber tube that goes on the coil of your springs, that is to prevent noise when the coils contact each other. Shimmy while driving could be your wheels are out of balance.

local shop

I did quite a bit of research on who to go to in town for this type of thing....everyone I talked to said Network Alignment & Brakes does the best work. They put my springs on. (H&R sport) I have had no problem at all. My camber is good and just had the tire rotation done. tires have no sign of camber issues.

do a yellow page search in PHX to find a shop near you. I went to the one in Cave Creek.
