Thinjim's Turbo Kit LIVES!!!
It has been lying dormant in storage for 2 long years. I finally found the right guy, the time and the money to get this bad boy installed. Just dropped off my car at the shop and am expected to pick it up next saturday. i can't wait! it's going to be AWESOME!!!
here is the original sale thread with all the parts and pics included for those that are curious about what is in the kit. i wish i knew more about the details and the ins and outs of this kit, but unfortunately i don't. I just know that it is an amazing kit.

if memory serves me right, i believe this was originally allmotor's kit and was acquired by thinjim. only thing i'm adding is the Clutch Master Stage4 kit.
i want to thank Cocoa and Thinjim for making this all possible for me. can't believe it's finally going to happen.

WOOOOOW !! cant wait finally something going on !!
this is going to be serious i wonder how much whp does it on 6psi i guess about 340-360whp
My first tune which was too agressive made 464whp.
The better tune on the safe side produced 450whp.

Don't recall ThinJim blowing his motor. ThinJim did additional tuning on the kit and had a knock sensor added. Allmotor had problems with has after he pulled the kit and replaced the shortblock IIRC.

haha. actually, i wasn't the "lucky bastard" at the time. it wasn't until a couple years later until the kit resurfaced itself and was able to get a crazy deal for it.
quick update: the tranny is out and the clutch should be going in today. i'm having the guy do the initial break-in on the clutch for me, so he won't get started on the turbo kit unitl fri/sat.

Ugh.. what a thread... guess we know who the "lucky bastard" was!

I'm pretty sure that Thinjim blew his motor with it as well. I conveniently couldn't seem to find his post on it (it's been awile), but I found a few posts of his as evidence:

Awesome can't wait to see it! My transmission will be coming out a 3rd time hopefully by week's end. Unfortunately when it goes back it it will only still be putting out oem power :S
Good luck!

so of course there is a hang up. my guy goes to do the clutch and starts putting it back together and realize they is not throw out bearing. called CM and they say it is supposed to be there. reach out to the member i bought the kit from to see if he has it. we'll see....hopefully he does and get it shipped to my guy asap.

i called clutchmasters and they didn't recommend the oem bearing (~$70). they suggested that i use their bearing which is $90 plus shipping. anyone know if the oem bearing and CM bearing is interchangeable?
either way, it should have came with the kit....

I would imagine that it's interchangeable since it rides on the fork. I would trust the OEM bearing. Is CM saying theirs is better because it's upgraded to handle the increased pressure plate springs?

Ofcourse someone in Cali would buy this kit so I still can't see it in action at a track locally. Damnit. Can't wait to see some numbers/vids at least lol.
