that thing got a hemi???

on the freeway @ a red light a hemi 300c pulls up next to me, i gave em look to see if he wanted to run but his windows were like 2x limo tinted so i couldnt see em, lights goes green and i got off a cleaner launch and by 25mph his front bumper is at my door handles then as i get into vtec through 1st and 2nd i but about 1.5 cars on it. right at the end of 2nd i got on the brakes cause i thought i saw a cop up ahead, turned out it wasnt though

Are you sure it was the Hemi? Chrome door handles and mirrors, the "C" badge under the sidemarker?

He should have beaten you, 340hp and 390tq should best the CL-S, even one modded like yours. Maybe you were able to get the jump since you have about a 500bls or so weight advantage.

i dont know man... i have raced 1 300c and i lost.. not just by a little... more like 3 car length . and many other g35c 6mt with bolt ons have lost to 300c as well.....

I raced one on the expressway, he had a bunch of people in it and I was alone and the gas light was on. I got a small jump and inched away till the top of 4th where I slowed down to a normal pace. The people in the back seat were giving me thumbs up. (this was in the CL-S btw)

Well I wouldnt say that, lots of fast domestics on here, not too many fast imports.

From a stop even a fully loaded 300C would beat me by a couple car lengths, even more with stock tires.

You know the funny thing about hemi's? Is that we have them too, lol. Almost all hondas/acuras are hemi's ( I believe there was some honda made in the 80's that used the wedge design, not sure though). Pretty much all cars have the hemi design.

Hemi is just a short way of saying it has "hemispherical combustion chambers". Hemi is defined as half, and spherical means circle. Therefore the combustion chamber is shaped like half a circle. The piston forms the base of the hemisphere, and the valves are inclined at an angle of 60-90 degrees to eachother, with the spark plug in the middle.

Other types of combustion chambers would be the "wedge" design, and swirl (the swirl is not used anymore from what I know, but i may be wrong).

So the next time you pull up to one of those Hemi 300C's...let him know he lost to a hemi, lol. That will really confuse the hell out of him. Chrylser/Dodge just bought the name, Hemi, that's why honda/acura or any other car companies cant use it for advertising their cars. Really not a big deal though, just as long as you know what you have

200?? They have 390 at the crank. Our CLS comes with 232 at the crank. Darrin has a few mods so I'm thinking he has around 260-270 lb/ft of torque at the crank. So the hemi has a 120 lb/ft of torque advatage but weighs 600 more pounds. If you knew anything about racing, you'd know that for about every 100 pounds, you lose .1 seconds in the 1/4. So he loses about .6 seconds in the quarter just becaue he's 600 pounds heavier. Also, if you had ever been at a track, you'd know that .6 seconds @ 100 mph are quite A FEW car lengths. I think a modded CLS can beat a hemi, especially from a roll.

You're partially right. The .1 rule of thumb is for an average car. Cars with high HP and low TQ suffer more, cars with high and flat tq curves suffer less. 600lbs in a 300C would not equate to .6 in the 1/4. At least i don't think so. Maybe .4, but I am just pulling that number out of my arse. lol

for every 200 ibs its .1 in the quarter according to this one tuner magi saw in a store while shoping for rez/s paint .

they actually have stop lights on the freeway out in Tx. I forget which freeway it was, but they did it so that people on Sandy Lake Road (i think thatz the name) can get across the freeway and service roads to get to Grapevine Mills (outlet mall).

u guys gotta remember depending on the driver 300c's run any where from 13.9-14.6, i run consistent 14.2's so its very believable that i can beat this high powered monster

one more thing, r/t is very key on the street, @ the track i sometimes beat cars to the finish that actually run faster times than me

I completely believe it. I've never seen a stock 300c hemi run under 14.3.......so this should've been a close race........they do trap higher than the CLS/TLS w/ similar mods to Darrins though, so it probably would've taken him as they got to 100. They're (300c) some heavy fukn tanks.

sorry but them HEMIS are real slow, i had a 1500 ram all hooked up. . still lost to them damn TLs, then i got my TL s and ran one and we did it like 3 times, once off the line, and 2 rolling at different speeds.

i love the front on those things but hate the back. i'm glad to hear that i have a hemi too, cocoa. well, i guess they're trying to be like a bentley after all...big and heavy but fast as shit. i wonder, bentley vs. 300c...i bet the bent would walk the hemi, eeeh? maybe a hemi with headers!
