Are those shirts legal? I'd hate to see someone get taken to court over illegal use of a trademarked symbol.

They might be illegal but I doubt anyone would go to court over it. Just an agreement to stop making them. That's the thing about trademarks and registered symbols/logos: it's all about enforcement. 
So where do we get the TL shirts? Once day we all might be driving a TL, you never know.
