Is there a way to prevent Headlight Theft?

I was reading some article on the new fad out there, stealing HID lights. Is there a way to make The CL's headlights theft proof, maybe securing them from the back some how. Anyone have any ideas?

I think there were like 2 thefts and a few more attempted ones....it's pretty much dead now....although the paranoid people will tell you otherwise...it's not worth it anymore to try to steal ours when you can buy one for $500 and it'll fit any car.

I don't think there's a way to prevent it other than being careful where you park it.

Shopping for my CL in August/September, one dealer I went to in (Denville) NJ was hit pretty bad the day before. There were at least 7 CL/TL's without headlights and the front bumper on the ground in the lot.

Even if you could secure the lights, the thief would still cause considerable damage to the front end.

I added the dual-stage shock sensor to my car and set it very sensitive. It may not prevent theft, but it should deter. Once someone trys to knock the bumper off, the alarm will go off, where as the stock alarm won't go off unless they're trying to get into the car itself. If they want it, they'll get it, but the odds are in my favor since 99.5% of the other CLs and TLs don't have a shock sensor. They'll hopefully leave mine alone and move on....

Most of the cost of repair isn't the headlights themselves, it's
all the damage done to pull the lights out.

So even if there WAS a way to securely keep your lights in,
you'll have this nice ring of damage around them while the
crooks rip apart your bumper/quarter panels trying to get them
out. It won't help much.

It certainly does make you wary of where you leave your car.

Can a shock sensor be added to the stock anti-theft system? Would a dealer do it for you?

Yes, that's what I did!! I haven't added or changed any part of the anti-theft system itself, just added the shock sensor. I printed the directions from the TL board (below) and my father's friend (who does alarms and stereos and stuff) had it done in about 15 min. The only dealer I know that does it is Park Ave. Acura, but they charge about $175 Cost me about $22 ($12 or so for the sensor, then threw my dads friend $10).....
