Is there an easy way to get a chart of all available after-mkt interior bulbs??
most of the time, i just see the wattage and description "interior bulbs"...and going through the manual, i couldn't find a list...perhaps towards the back in the "Do-it-yourself" section??
i vaguely remember someone having some breakdown of them but can't seem to get an accurate search...a list such as... Door bulbs: M4 or something Visor bulbs: M?? Dome light:...etc etc. just wanna make sure i get the right bulbs for the right fixtures when i do my interior upgrading soon. |

BTW, here is a quick run down. Doors, Trunk, License plate and Map: M4 Reverse: M2 Signal: M13 Dome: M16 but will not fit properly. Vanity Mirror: Unknown. and of course the infamous M6 for the road lamps. |
Here is a chart I found. Check it out, its a big help!!! I have been doing a ton of research on PIAA lights and I will give you what I have. Here is the link first:
http://www.sylvania.com/bin/carApp/c...el=CL&x=28&y=8 Anything that has the 168 wedge bulb, I will be using PIAA # 19172 Xtreme White bulbs. These will match the HID's best. This will cover the license plate, front side marker, map light, and trunk light. The glove box and door lights seem to be 158's. I am not sure if the 168 bulb will fit or not. As soon as I find out, I will let you know. The driving lights get PIAA # 19224. Reverse lights get the PIAA # 19225. The dome light gets the PIAA # 19223, but I don't know about the fit yet. I don't know about the vanity mirror lights, but as soon as I know I will post. I have posted these question's a bunch of times and no one had any answers. So I hope all the research I did helps!!! I will find out the other bulbs ASAP. I will be placing my PIAA order soon, so I will find out quickly!!!! |
Did this help?????

Well I wanted to update you all. I just put the PIAA 19225's in for the reverse lights and the PIAA 19223 T-6 for the dome light. The PIAA is a little smaller than the stock dome light. I made it fit by pinching the brass holders together and it seems OK. The 19225's are AWESOME!!!! They are so much nicer and brighter than the stock bulbs!!!! The stock bulbs look like a yellow orange compared to the PIAA's!!! I also put the PIAA 19172's in for my map lights, door lights, trunk light, and license plate light. They have a little blue tint to them, and since I have the Agean Blue Pearl, they look SWEEEEET!!!!!! Well worth the $10 a pair for the lights!!!! SilverKnight, THANKS, the 168 wedge bulbs fit with no problems into the doors. They look like the same bulb as the map/trunk/license plate light, so I am not sure why the Sylvania web site lists them as 158's??? Maybe its the wattage. I will post pics if anybody wants them, let me know!!!

You're sayin the 19225 will fit in the reverse socket?? The size for the reverse are the W2 bulb which the 19224 is.. and the 19225 is the 7440 type bulbs.. aren't they different sizes where they plug in??? 19224 http://www.piaa.com/images/19224bulb.gif 19225http://www.piaa.com/images/19225bulb.gif also, where did ya order them for only $10/pair?? :D |
The 19225's are the PERFECT replacement for the reverse lights. I have been doing a TON of research to make sure all the bulbs I ordered fit!!! The 19224's are going in my "driving lamps". They are a lot smaller than the 19225's. I'll show you next time we hook up. The 19224's will be here next week, they were on back order. I am hooking up with bobowah on Sat. Let me know if you are free. We can have a three way!!!! Bring the new wife, she can watch!!!

yeah u're gonna need to post pics...b/c i was this close to doing a Polarg overhaul :D and since i already have the 19224's, might as well see what the 19225's, 19223's, etc etc look like...im particularly interested in seeing what the reverse lamps look like...any chance u can pop one stock bulb back in and do one shot of both to kinda get the jist of the color/brightness???
i was talking to adam yesterday, and he brought up an interesting idea...get red tinted interior lights, kinda like the Audi's dash...it would certainly carry on my color theme :D anyone know if red lights exist??? im sure they do. actually, kinda funny...based on the exterior color of our cars, u could use a color theme with interior lights...for San Marino Red, use red lights, for Aegean Blue/Eternal Blue, use the Polargs/PIAA's, for Taffeta White and Satin Silver Metallic, use superwhite bulbs, for Naples Gold and Noble Green, u should prob keep the stocks, and for Nighthawk Black...check this out, black-lights!! how cool would that b?? if only PIAA/Polarg made little black lights :D |

Here are the pics of my reverse lights.
This one is with with both reverse lights having the PIAA's http://home.comcast.net/~aztecrol/Az...everse-001.jpg This one is with the left side PIAA and the right side stock http://home.comcast.net/~aztecrol/Az...everse-006.jpg HUGE difference!!!!! The stock one looks to be a pinkish yellow color. While the PIAA is pure white with a very light blue tint. Let me know what you all think. |
Here are the pics of the PIAA 19172's in my interior.
This one is of the dome light http://home.comcast.net/~aztecrol/Az...A-Dome-001.jpg This one is of the door light http://home.comcast.net/~aztecrol/Az...A-Door-001.jpg This one is of the map lights http://home.comcast.net/~aztecrol/Az...AA-Map-001.jpg It is hard to tell with these pics. All I can say is that the difference is HUGE. I LOVE THEM!!!!!!! |

What is the best online place to order bulbs?
I simply refuse to pay 5$ a pair for shipping from ACP!!! Honestly, the cost of shipping from that site has driven me away to find other suppliers. |

The Polarg M-28 fits perfectly in the dome light. It's the exact same size as the original.

One thing I'd like to mention when dealing with bulbs. The reason why there's probably so much confusion with what bulbs fit in where, different models might use different bulbs.
It's probably best to first find out what industry standard bulb #'s fit what part of your car first (such as the Sylvania Guide ) and then do a research on what the specific company (such as polarg, piaa, sylvania, etc...) has the industry standard # converted to (in their own application). For example: If you are looking for a 168/194 bulb(168=single filament, 194= dual filament) and want to find out what bulbs polarg makes for that application: M4 - Hyper White M20 - Amber M21 - Red M80 - Blue If you are looking for a 7440/7443 bulb (7440=single, 7443 = dual) and want to find out what bulbs polarg makes for that application: M1 - Amber M2 - Hyper White M3 - Red (7443) M13 - Hyper White (7443) M15 - Blue M23 - Red etc...just remember you have to do a specific search for your particular model, since (for example) a 97 Acura CL might use the 168/194 bulbs for the license plates, side markers, parking, etc...whereas a 04 Acura CL might use 7440/7443 or something for the license plate, but use 168 for side, and use T-6 for the parking, etc... The 97 applications are correct, but the 04 (if you couldn't tell) is all made up...just to show the point that your car might not use the same bulbs as someone else on the forum. Hope this helps clear out some of the confusion:rice: |
keep in mind that the guide might not be right.........
My '98 3.0 uses 7440's for the front signals......but that's not what the guide says. I'm glad I didn't ORDER bulbs based on the guide without checking first. |
