Texas CLers

Hello, I was wanting to hear what other owners feel about the black interior in hot climates. I love the look but think I might hate it in the 100+ summer days we regularly get in Austin. I bought a 03 white/tan recently, but I love the look of the silver, anthracite, blue, and even the black car, and most of these have black interior. I'm looking at a silver/black 03 now.
PS- I bought the white cause I thought used 03 CLs would be rare but I've seen 2 others in the last 2 weeks. I hate the heat, but the white is not as sporty looking. I know there are a few other Austinites on here. ..thanks.

Nothing a little tint and cracked windows won't handle.

I've had my white exterior black interior CL for over 3 years now.

I won't say it doesn't get hot inside in the summer, but its not that bad. I really think having the windows tinted makes a huge difference along with the white exterior.

I wouldn't let the temperature thing be the deciding factor... it's not that big of deal. It's not like the seats burn me when I sit on them in shorts in July.

Just tint the windows and park under a tree when you can.

I've got a black interior, and actually wanted it.

With the tint I have and the effectiveness of the A/C, it's never been a complaint.

Matter-of-fact, I've had people comment on how hot they expected it to be, but it wasn't.

Don't forget to use the windshield sun screen as well.

Thanks all, I'm thinking of trading (or selling) my white/tan 6 speed for a silver/black one.

It honestly isn't a problem at all. I've had the CL-S in all Texas cities between Amarillo and San Antonio and have never had a problem with the black leather. Get a tint and if you have to park outside ALWAYS use a sun shade in the windshield.

I'd actually advise the black because it stays "clean"

I never had a problem either. Just like others stated get dark tint, use a sunshade and park in the shade when available.
