Unfortunately, many cars these days have "lots" plastic in the interior.....BMW's (750, Z8 excluded), Benz (unless you get a 600 series), Lexus, etc.

Bentley even had a few lawsuits going because of the smell of plastic (seatbelt housings) in the interior...and those cars rims cost more than the Acura.

I think both interior wood trim colors look like crap....but like the dark wood better, matches the rest of the dash better-making it harder to see.

Test-drove a CL today - Question...

I've been lurking on/off for several months, and finally looking to buy a car. Thanks for all the great input, but I need some more. I have been driving an Accord (manual) for 10 years, and the improvement in road noise, handling, comfort, etc. is stunning. However, I couldn't help but notice the plastic on the dash and even on the armrests on the door. It reminded me of my Accord, almost too much. Am I being too picky? Does the plastic bug anyone else? Are there ways to treat it to make it look as rich as the photos, not flat and cheap looking? I tested a Red/Ebony Type S, so maybe it's the ebony interior - but I don't think I could do parchment. Appreciate your input. Thanks.

I prefer the ebony interior. If, by saying "plastic," you are referring to the switchgear/window/lock/mirror/seat controls, there's not much (I know of) that you can do except keep it clean, as they are in fact borrowed from the Honda parts bin (IMO nothing wrong with that, mind you).

As for the "wood" trim, it may be helpful to not have expectations of it looking like wood. Most of my passengers comment on the nice "marble" in my CL-S . I'll say again: it's one of the top 3 things I get compliments on in the car.

CL-S interior far superior than Accord! Anything better and you will spend 40+!
