Temperature unit help/advice..Jens?

I have a non-nav and I was wondering if the Temperature Guage cluster unit has the same plug in the back for Navi or Non-navi. Would it be possible to get a cluster and swap it?? Not the screen of course, just the temperature buttons and display and where the Hazard light button is. Thanks in advance for any help.

Lang,i am a bit confused as to what exactly you are trying to do.Do you want to put the Nav climate controls in your car? or are you referring to the engine temp gauge assembly?Let me know so I can get this answered for you.Jens

I'm talking about the heater/AC assembly. The non-nav has the two circular dials that adjusts the temp. And the Nav has the buttons and the screen above it. I want the control buttons from a CL with Nav and to see if I can put my own replacement screen where the stock Nav screen would be. Sound doable? Hope this is clear..if not I'll try to explain again.

This sounds unique.
So, instead of putting in the stock navi, just get the dash panel and install an aftermarket screen in the same location as the stock navi screen. Then you can hook up whatever you want.

Only problem I see is the fan and ac controls are built into the navi unit.

Are you thinking of taking out the temp dial, the fan speed dial, the display, the ac button, and mode button. Then put in a navi dash panel, and using the non-navi climate system hook it up to the little temp display, the up/down temp buttons to replace the temp dial, maybe just hardwire the fan speed to auto, relocate the ac button and mode button and don't have them display anywhere because it would be obviouse if the ac was on/off and which vents the air is coming out of. Did I get this right?

Might be better off just putting in a pop-out screen in the notepad holder??

The AC control buttons are not fused onto the Nav screen. I'v seen the unit its only a small box the size of an equalizer. The vents on Nav and non Nav are the same. What I'm trying to figure out though is where the TIME CLOCK is. I havent gotten a chance to look into this. Anyone with the Nav unit tell me where your time clock is?? =) If anytihng I can just instal an aftermarket one..hehee

In nav cars, the clock is in the nav display screen.

Ok I got it now (sorry) .Neat idea but the plugs are different as is electronics that operate the climate control system .You see the climate control in a navi car is operated partially from the navi screen. The navi cars depend on signals sent from the navi ecu to control things like air flow and fan speed when you are using the system in manual mode.Jens

shiiieet..you spoiled my day, Jens...

Oh well back to the drawing board. I just like the idea of two TV type screens since I have the Eclipse Unit already. I don't really want to block my current Temp controls with one of those flip outs... Thanks guys!
