TEIN SS owners

I have repeatedly sent emails to TEIN, but they will not respond. The ? or problem is this. Do you experience excesive bouncing from the front shocks not all the time but over certain bumps? When I adjust the damping it gets alittle better but still there. Now i'm talking about a type of soft bouncing not jarring. Plus when you adjust the dampening to the hardest does it keep turning or does your's stop. My stops when I go to the left for the softer setting, but when I turn it right I could go way past 16 clicks without stopping. Plus one more thing, is your steering alittle more loose now? Am I just having paranode thoughts or is something wrong with my coilovers

Well depending on how fast you go over certain bumps may produce different feels. Such as going over a speedbump is a different feel than hitting a pothole.
As fas as the dampening, turning it clockwise is stiffer and counter clockwise is softer. Turning it all the way clockwise it should like "lock". Once it locks, turn it one click back...that is 0. Now the teins can actually turn 24 clicks...BUT DO NOT TURN THEM PAST 16 clicks from STIFFEST or you may blow your shocks.

I noticed if I made my ride too harsh that you'd be riding mostly on springs since the shocks wouldn't move and the springs would make the car very bouncy over bumpbs ... In general, if I'm driving around normally I don't ever ride with anything lower than 8. I have an EDFC though so I have the fortune of being able to change it anytime I want.

Thanks for your help. Today on the way to work after readjusting, it seems to be better. It is now set at 14 in front and 12 in the back. I'm just too picky about my car I guess. Otherwise I love the ride and the way it looks.

peiqinglong do you have a cl-s? How did you get the edfc motors to fit behind our back seats? I wanted to get them, but theres those reinforcement bars that run at the top of our seats and I thought that would be in the way.

The only way is to take out your back seats. I personally took out my own seats for the shop so they wouldn't have to. Then before I put them back in I made a small hole on each side in my rear deck that was inline with the adjustment knob. This allows me to adjust them when I want without taking out the seats. You need to get a longer allen key though or you can go the cool guy route and get the EDFC motors. They supposedly do not fit the cl's so i'm waiting to hear from peiqinglong to see how he did it.

The EDFC from the TL does not fit the front...the rear it clears it fine.

TEIN is now prototyping another set of SS's that will have EDFC for use with the CL. Unfortunately, these new coil's are not/NOT CL specific as they indicated to me before the summer they would be ... they will have Pillowball Uppermounts, but the part numbers are the same for the CL/TL/AccordV6 (which means that there still may be some bottoming out problems due to the addit weight of our CL's over the AccordV6's). fyi

oh, and yeah, if you are waiting for sales@tein to respond to your email, I wouldn't suggest holding your breath. I even tried emailing the Japanese HQ office complaining about the lack of response from the West Coast people but to no avail. I kept sending the same message, with some caustic comments about the lack of customer service response etc and finally did get something, but it was like pulling teeth.

I have a TL, not a CL, so everything fits just fine on my car for the EDFC ... If you want EDFC on the CL you have to wait for Tein to release their new coilovers.
