What kind of tires are you running. Also after having a second gen tl and a cl the fender clearance is much better on the cl. With the same wheels and tires I have plenty of room on my cl but on my old tl they would rub.

For comparison, your wheels have 16 MM more inner clearance and 1 MM less outer clearance than my current wheels with 255 tires.
If your wheels were on my CL, I would have room for 255 tires, but 1010tires.com recommends atleast 8.5" wide for anything 255 or larger. I have always stuck to their recommendations.
With those wheels I would go for a set in 245.
I would recommend a front camber kit. Even at -2.4 camber my tires are wearing well. Toe is what you need to focus on for tire wear.
How low your car is can also affect fitment. I am at about .5 to 1 finger gap.
No idea about cl vs tl fender clearance. You will need to ask TL owners about that one.
Lowering car will also give you negative camber without a camber kit. My Ingall's arms originally didn't offer much adjustment. I extended the slots to allow a little more adjustment. That got me to -1.7 camber roughly. Then lowering car got me to -2.3 to 2.4.
That is about all the camber I can get with available camber kits. I am pretty happy with that camber setup for autocross. No worries on street also. Good thing about double wishbone suspension is you don't need as much static camber as a Macpherson strut setup.

Lowered with eibach's on bilstien's have .5 to 1 finger gap all the way around. Tires are 225/50 17 that's how I got them and they just barely clear the fenders. The front has stayed in spec so no need for adjustable arms.

I've got a cl setting here for my 6speed swap might have to uses the front feeders as well.

She's officially off the road. It's been an eventful 10 months to say the least but I had to make the decision. After I pulled the motor to replace the rear main seal/oil pump and everything else I did, the car was fantastic. No issues at all, then I noticed oil spots on the driveway again from the oil pump area. Did a quick investigation & noticed a touch of coolant in the oil, sad to say that was the last straw.
She's officially being parted out. Haven't posted it on here yet, trying to see if I can get rid of most things local. If there's any interest, shoot me a PM.

I have recent fried my valve train and looking into a new engine and I'm slightly leaning to the j35 because I feel it's going to be the same amount of work to just swap a j32 as is a j35 but I have a few questions for you! What ecu did you use and what caused it to leak so much that you pulled it and dismantled it? Thanks hope to hear from you soon

I never got around to investigating this current oil leak but I suspect it was a porous block or a headgasket.
you still going to mess with the first gen?

That's the long term plan. For now the swap/CL are going into hibernation.
Taking anything semi useful off the CLS before she goes. Fuse boxes, harnesses, cluster, shifter box, shift linkage etc etc.
When the time comes it'll be legit..

Had my TL project been completed a lot sooner, it would have been an interesting match up with your CL build and g-nuts S/C CL.
Would have been a pretty varied field with the setups to see how they all performed.
Anyway, I know you moved on with the RL....which is coming along great.
Nice work with the CL, while it was up and running though.

That would've been magical & it sucks we never got around to squaring off
As for the RL, I can't complain at all but man do I miss that CLS6. The autotragic is slowly eating away at my soul but the AC seats are a nice touch with shorts
Hopefully this thread will live on and help folks moving forward..
