Technical Service Bulletins (TSB's)

Quick question for those who can answer:

If a TSB exists for a certain problem, does that mean it is fixed under your warranty? For example, I'm bringing my car in for service. I have that filmy stuff on my windshield, and my sunroof rattles.

I know there are TSB's for both these problems. Does a TSB mean that Acura knows there is a problem, and it is a warranty related fix and therefore does not cost me any money?

Or do we still have to pay to fix something that is mentioned in a TSB?

A good dealer, like Park Avenue, will do the TSBs without charge. Some members have mentioned dealers that don't seem to keep up with the TSBs (or don't want to).

I don't know what the exact policy is (from Acura to the dealer), but some folks here have had good luck getting the items you mentioned fixed (without cost and hassle).

last i heard was that... they should be covered under warranty. the number of complaints about the problem are not significant enough to warrant a "recall."

the dealership that i go to gets a disk with the TSB's once a month. so dont be surprised if they have not heard of your complaint yet...... they might not have gotten the disk yet.

Yes, it is covered under warranty. Just tell your service person (preferably when you make the service appointment) that you want the windshield washer hose TSB performed on your car. Note, it includes new blades.

Some people experience a filmy grimy windshield due to the interior of the windshield washer fluid hoses "breaking down" (dissolving) and "sticking" to the exterior of the windshield and to the wiper blades.

It doesn't happen to everyone, but if your wipers don't seem to be working as well as they used to, then you are probably experiencing this problem (like I am! ...but not for long!).
