tapping lines for gauges
Hooking up gauges very shortly and want to make sure I have everything.
For FP (per smitty/scalbert posts) I bought:
Part # Item Price Qty Price
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
EAR-100192ERL Adapter, Pressure Gauge, Straight, -6 AN Male to -6 AN Female, 1/8 in. NPT Gauge Port, Aluminum, Blue, Each $8.50
EAR-935106ERL Fitting, Coupler, 90 Degree, Female -6 AN to Female -6 AN, Aluminum, Blue, Each $10.75
But how does the boost gauge hook up? My gauge kit didn't come with anything to tap into the vacuum line. Both sensors are 1/8 BSP x 12.7mm (will fit 1/8in NPT, so say the specs). Do I just need to order another 2 of the above?
Advice? thanks!

you bought electrical dual gauges... most of us are running mechanical boost and electrical fuel gauges...
for the mechanical boost. you will need a T tap for the boost that runs back to the sensor that is mounted onto the firewall.. from there, it plugs into the sensor and runs to the back of the gauge.
for fuel pressure, you use the above parts you listed so you can hook up the sensor.
I am not familiar with the set-up you are using...

Hm I thought mrsteve said his boost gauge was electric too...
Wouldn't both electric and mechanical gauges still take the reading from the same spot? Just the sensor would be different?

Smitty,
Your boost gauge, my boost gauge, almost everyone's boost gauge is also a full swept electronic gauge.

The sensor is internal.
Autometer doesn't make a mechanical boost gauge that peaks at anything less than 20psi.
I believe you are correct though. Some how the vacuum line to the FPR will need to be tapped into using a T and then have that vacuum line run to the pressure sensor for the boost "half" of the gauge.

Go to your local hardware store with the sensor for the boost gauge portion along with a sample of vacuum line. You will find all suitable brass fittings there to make it work.

That's what I was thinking.
Rough sketch with MS Paint. AutoCAD became "corrupt" on my computer today

mrsteve did you ever get a chance to look at how your gauge taps into the vacuum line? Also I tried calling Tischer to see if they could get me the specs on the hose but no response yet.

Gotcha. Summit fittings arrived today... and they gave me 10 bucks off my next purchase with them - so I may as well just order whatever I need for the boost gauge sensor from them once I find out.
