Talked to Bilstein today...

I talked to the Bilstein folks again and got some information of possible interest.

I asked about if/when shocks would be made for the CL/CLS/Accord and got some information that may be old news. If so, ignore it.

I asked if the shocks would work on the CL/CLS and was told they would…

The Accord shocks are supposed to be able to work properly in a CL/CLS. I was told that the folks are also working on CL/CLS specific shocks (but this issue is a bit confused).

The parts are already listed for the Accord and were scheduled for release in November, but Jan 03 may be more realistic release date.

Here is the link to the two versions ("Sport" and "Heavy Duty").

I asked about use in the CLS and was told that it "should" work. When I asked about how they were valved and if they were designed to be "soft" over the small stuff, with good control over large excursions, I was told that they should be "softer" and ride better than stock shocks over "small roar irregularities", but with firmer control over the big stuff.

I was told that there are spring perches that can be used with stock springs for a 5mm or 15mm drop (with stock springs).

Blisteins are awesome. matter of fact when I thought my shocks were going out (i took them to a mechianic and he greased or put oil or something in them and they were fine) .
they wear forever. their OEM on Tundra TRD packages(dad only got the regular Tundra 4x4 not the TRD because the TRD is not offered in the 8 ft box) but 90 or 95 percent of off road racers run Blistens(and off road racing plays hell on shocks)(cause the terrain uneven and their going so fast the force and impact so great) plus Blistens are rebuildable(meaning you can send for internal parts once the shock worn out and just replace the parts that are wore out instead of buying new shock. overall Blistens are sweet.

Well....

I had a set in my Bimmer that I had for a very, very, very long time.

Minor issues (for me):

Lifetime warranty is "real". I got free replacements after a very long time with no questions asked.

The shock oil never foamed -- the non-gas Konis were notorious for getting "soft" when pushed hard (this may be different now, but I always felt them getting "loose" after a few miles of hard driving).

Single tube constuction -- better heat dissipation...

Bigger issues (for me):

I like the feel of their shocks -- soft and compliant over small road irregularities but have very high damping over large excursions. I've used the Sport and HD and just like the feel... Hopefully, it’s one more option.

I liked the day-to-day feel more than the stock shocks, but they were stiff enough to damp my 2" lowering springs without irritating me on "milk runs..."
