Taking car-intercooled TLS- to the track
I do plan to go tomorrow to the track. I hope to have new and very improved track times and #s. Along with that I will be reporting on tranny results(this tranny has not had any track time as off yet). I don't have the new harness and as a result I'll be using 100 octane unleaded race fuel. I'll try and do a base run and then subsequent runs I will be running with ice in the reservoir to see how much it improves the times. That's all for now, I'm somewhat nervous but I'm hoping for no major issues. If there is any one that can make it out tomorrow and take pictures or video they are more than welcome. The track opens at 10PM until 2AM. It will be at "SPEEDWORLD" in Orlando their # is 407-568-5522. Hope to see you all there.

you should be tapping on very low 13's, but with good conditions i can see a break into 12's. the tranny will probably not help in the 1/4 mile times, since as i remember it, it was designed for more power handling capability than performance.
i think you can break 12's if you prep it right and especially if you use slicks.
on the best run you have so far, can you describe some of the conditions (weather, wheel setup, fuel)?

I actually have to wait another hour and twenty minutes. The track doesn't open until 10PM.

Here it is 3:53 AM and the results are very disappointing to say the least. Here are the shameful times:
1st Run - Got a 15.96 @ 81.01 HOW AWFUL. The check engine light flashed and VSA light came on and it looked like Christmas on my dash. When I came back through the staging lanes I noticed I only had half of my Supercharger belt, I must off lost most of it on the track. DOUBLE WOE!!!
Thank God the guys from Speed Distributors(formerly Velocity Resources) where there and they had my new GY Gatorback belt(which I ordered in anticipation of the original not making it). BTW: Dean with his black CL-S was there but didn't run, can't say that I blame him as there must off been 250+ cars and motorcycles.
After the belt was installed I got back in the lanes again hoping that would do it.
2nd Run - Went from running in D5 to gate shifting to see if that would also improve things: 15.80 @ 89.27 HOW AWFUL AGAIN. Check engine, VSA, etc...Flashing once more. I did no more attempts as this was hopeless. The car must off been pulling timing to save its life as the car didn't seem to pull past 4000-4500 RPMs. I know that I wasn't getting enough fuel since I don't have a working harness for the E-manage so I was using the race fuel but that didn't seem to make enough difference and that stuff is expensive!!!
So all this in light that the car is running 3-4 more pounds of boost, intercooled, race fuel, brand new wider rubber up front and I went from 13.68@ 102.5 on 93 octane to this. I'm hoping that this is nothing more then an e-manage issue....Steve HELP!!!
If I get the harness in time I'll be back to the track on Wednesday night.
Sorry guys for the poor report.

Sorry to sound like a jerk here, but shouldn't you know that the car isn't running properly? You were trapping 102.5... and you care SHOULD be quicker than that. If you are trapping 8x.x, that should be quite obvious that something is really wrong! That is a very significant disparity and it is more likely you are hurting the car when racing under these conditions. I mean... you did drive to the track, correct? If the car did nto feel good, you shouldn't have run it, just my $0.02.
Anyways, now to the problem at hand. It's either timing or fuel (or both). What was the CEL code? Check your spark plugs etc. for signs of detonation or running lean - just as a precaution. I believe Scalbert is on vacation, but I am sure he'll address your harness issue (if there is an issue) when he is back.
Edit: Okay, didn't realize you were not running the E-manage... more reason you should try to understand whar the car is trying to tell you before running it hard!

You're right. From the report that I got That higher octane gas might have compensated for the lack off fuel. The car was doing well up to 7-7 1/2 pounds on 93 so I decided to give it a try with the 100 fuel . Unfortunatly the car didn't pull it off.
I've been on the phone with Scalbert already and hopefully the fix is on the way.
