Take care of this now?

So I've been getting some tranny issues, D5 flashing, transaxle engine code etc... shes still driving good, but if the tranny dies on me (original with 115k) i dont see putting 5k into a car thats worth 10 at the most. Its paid off, would you guys get rid of it now? Just curious to see what your opinions are. I love this car to death, i just lowered it and put 19s on it.... I've heard about the GOODWILL thing from acura, but thats just a shot in the dark, right?

any help/insight would be greatly appreciated. especially from you high mileage guys.

I love my acura as well, however, if its paid off and you think you can get close enough to what it worth I would sell it. I don't think its worth putting a 5k transmission in the car. But I would definately go to Acura and see if they would be willing to give up a goodwill transmission. Nothing tried nothing done.

It also makes it much easier for them to be held accountable and helps you should you need to pursue legal actions.

You may want to check into the local lemon laws before selling. In my state, if you sell it to me and the tranny drops out in 2 weeks, you can either pay for it to be fixed or you can give me my money back.

before you do anything take it to the dealer if it is not salvage titled and see what acura will do for you

worst case you pay $100 diag fee
best case you get new trans for free

Weez, good idea with the local business. I'd hate to get a tranny in and the damn thing be in worse shape than mine.

There is a tranny rebuilder here in Phoenix (I checked before I bought my CLs) That charges 1k with a rebuildable core exchange for rebuilds with a 12 month/30k warranty fwiw
