Taillight Tint

Anyone know where to get the tint film for the taillights? I tried ccc.net and they refunded my money.
"This item is currently out of stock and we do not have an ETA, so here is your
refund for this order.

Regards,
CCC/704 Motors"

ok, good. i was hoping you wouldn't say NBP. i bought them thinking i would love how it would look. when i was installing them, i took a long look at them and didn't quite feel it right.

in your case, it should look right at home. don't forget to put some pics up afterwards.

Will do, I'm hoping the different tones of gray blend together well, which is why I didn't want to go with a darker tint on the windows...

can someone post up pics with the tails tinted with 20% vs. 35%. BTW I agree that dark tint on NBP just doesn't look right... it's TOO Black.

Also can you cut the rockblocker film so that you cover only the top part of the tail light?

I shall soon find out. According to their site it's a kit and it might be pre-cut to the CL's tail light specs but don't quote me on that...

Just curious brian, if you're getting 35% tint, why didnt you get the 35% taillight tint? I think it would blend in better.

The rockblocker tint is opposite to what window tint is. 20% is the lighter of the two, and it's pretty dark. It should match up with 35% window tint pretty well.

i have the light rockblocker tail tink and love it! going on 2 years now and it's still shiny and has not taken a toll with my weekly gas station car washes

take your time during the install '''''patience''''' a good hair dryer is invaluable

Hey Jim,
I figured exactly what gaping said, that the 35% taillight tint would be too dark based on the DIY pics from NiteQwill.

As you can see I'm finally getting some of this stuff I have sitting around installed since it's finally warming up in Chicago. Car is in the shop now getting that body work done that we talked about and my lip spoiler came today, I just need to find a way to get it to them, cuz I want them to secure it with something other than the tape so it doesn't come up on the ends. My headers are being shipped to Jet Hot this week so you better try and run me before they get back...

Yep, but it's all weather so it will survive rain, etc as long as it's applied correctly...

Yeah, why would I tint the red part? I don't think it'll look right.

I think that black on black looks good. its like having tinted windows on NBP. plus im going for a chrome/black look. what you think? chrome/black rims with chrome trim. chrome license plate frame. chrome grill surround since its a 01' and even the S on the type s is chrome. lol

oh man, have you searched around for pictures of this? I have never seen someone just tint the clear part and leave the red. It just doesnt look right in my head. The red is always tinted. Either the whole thing is tinted or just the red part. That's why it's called "taillight tint".

Well, it's your car, so proceed, but I dont wanna hear any, "shit jim, you're right, I did it the wrong way". Goodluck buddy.

But you have anthracite homey. Your body color is dark and if you're adding tint to it, everything on the car will be dark. The red is going to stick out to the eye too much IMO. Go with what you think man. I dont wanna persuade you into anything you dont wanna do. Be sure to give me a ring when you get some of this installed so we can meet up.

what do you guys think about tinting the top and bottom, but leaving the inch gap between the two red, so that you only have one stripe of bright red, while the rest is tinted, or almost black. depending on what tint you get of course.

Someone would have to make a photochop of what that would look like cuz I'm not testing it out on my car . Sounds interesting though...

I hear you. I'll hold it up in place before I put it on to see how it'll look, in my mind it looks nice though.
I'll give you a ring as soon as I get my headers back

Also, have you checked out the Meets section? They're planning something on May 5th...
