Planning on changing the transmission fluid and wondering if anyone has an acceptable alternative to the Acura ATF-Z1. Noticed that there is a Castrol Transmax and a Car Quest Full Syn. that will supposedly work. Any thoughts on these and others and should I stick with Acura's brand?

 

Use Honda DW-1.

 

DW-1 has replaced Z-1 and is recommended.

 

Is the DW-1 the replacement for the Z1 or are they the same?

 

Definitely not the same; DW-1 has a superior synthetic base oil; both ATF formulations have virtually identical Coefficient of Friction properties.
